Freshly received by my friendly neighborhood FFL for testing and review purposes is this pistol caliber carbine made by Just Right Carbines of Canandaigua, NY. The bipod and scope are for beauty shot purposes only. Everything else you see, above, is exactly as it comes out of the box. And for you southpaws, their guns available in 9mm, .40 and .45 are truly ambidextrous, allowing you to shift sides for both the ejection port and charging handle
I already own a Glock-flavored 9mm SUB-2000 and the JR guns take the Austrian mags, too. Thats right, you can load one of these up with 33 rounds of parabellum fun. And while the build quality of the JR gun and the Kel Tec folder are worlds apart its kinda like comparing a Kia and a Maybach Im just the idiot to do it. In any case, watch this space for the full frontal review in the next couple of weeks.
The listed price is $599, but it looks as if that is without sights, just a scope rail.
Played with the idea of a Hi-Point carbine as a house gun, preferably in .40S&W. Not a lot of faith in the 9mm as a man-stopper. I’ll have to look into this new one more thoroughly.
Cool! Thanks for posting!
Thanks nice!
Lots to be said for 9mm and .40S&W, but bottom line:
The .45ACP was designed specifically to stop and drop muslim fanatics hopped up on fervor, blood lust and drugs.
It is expensive for what it is. For the same money, you can get an AR. Plenty of parts, upgrades, and ammo. Even available in a pistol version with way more bullet energy than these pistol caliber carbines.
The AR also available in different calibers (even pistol calibers).
There are actually deadly carbines all over the place.
A Ruger 10/22 with a good high capacity mag is a brutal weapon against non armored personnel. A high speed soft point 40 or HP, 37 grain bullet will do tremendous damage to a human sized animal. With the newer extended mag releases they are very quick to reload too.
Thanks MT,
How do you like the Glock mag sub2k?
I’ve been casually looking to buy one with no luck. Any suggestions?

If you are talking about the Kel Tec carbine, I had one and was not impressed. It was OK, but did not deliver what I thought it should for accuracy out to 100 yards. Hard to believe, but I actually liked the Hi-Point carbine a little better.
For a folder to put in a truck or suitcase, I like the Kel Tec SU-16 better. For anything intense like that indoors, you need hearing protection, preferably electronic or a suppressor. A suppressed AR type platform with frangible bullets is hard to beat for home defense.
Yep, I meant the kel-tek. I like the folding concept.
I’ll check out the SU-16, thanks!
You’d be surprised. A +P round out of a longer barrel will give you better performance than the same ammo from a handgun.
Pistol ammo in a rifle is a waste. There are pistols for .223 all over the place. This company is doomed.
Go for the Saiga 12 ga auto with a 20rd drum. Puts you on offense real fast.
The performance of .223 or 5.56mm is degraded enough in a 16” barrel. Why would I want it in a shorter one? Some may be looking for a handgun/rifle combo using the same caliber ammo. In that case, I’d be better off with a revolver and Henry rifle in .357 magnum.
