If your skin is very sensitive don’t go out in the full moon. Severe moonburns can be fatal.

Great minds think alike. :-) I rushed to post my comment but you got there ahead of me. :-(

Bhopal! Bhopal! The effects at Bhopal caused the lethal moonshine overdose, a position any self-respecting lawyer could never find too-implausible. Is it too late to include in the Union Carbide settlement?

Mr. Roosevelt
Told us just how he felt
The day the Whiskey Law went through
“If your whiskey is red,
it’ll swell up your head.
Better stick with that
Good ol’ mountain dew.”

Another lost domestic art. Sad, aint it?

My great great grandpappy Jedidiah Jackson Navycando should have written a Moonshine for Dummies book.

Most likely antifreeze

Or using an old lead-soldered automobile radiator as a condensing coil.

And you can bet they're not keeping just the "middle cut" of each distillation run.

http://homedistiller.org/methanol.htm:

Will home-distilled alcohol make me go blind ? Not if you’re carefull. This pervasive question is due to moonshine lore, which abounds with myths of blindness, but few actual documented cases. The concern is due to the presence of methanol (wood alcohol), an optic nerve poison, which can be present in small amounts when fermenting grains or fruits high in pectin. This methanol comes off first from the still, so it is easily segregated and discarded. A simple rule of thumb for this is to throw away the first 50 mL (reflux still) you collect (per 20 L mash used), or 100-200 mL from a pot still.

When you drink vodka over ice, it can give you kidney failure.
When you drink rum over ice, it can give you liver failure.
When you drink whiskey over ice, it can give you heart problems.
When you drink gin over ice, it can give you brain problems.

Apparently, ice is really bad for you.

Dooley was a good old man
He lived below the mill,
Dooley had two daughters
And a forty-gallon still.

One gal watched the boiler
The other watched the spout
And Mama corked the bottles
When ol' Dooley fetched 'em out.

Dooley, slippin' up the Holler
Dooley, tryin' to make a dollar
Dooley, gimme a swaller
And I'll pay you back someday.

That’s why you got to wear your moonblock.

Wondering if it was run through a radiator. Gotta look at the bubbles when you turn the bottle up. Small bubbles good. Big bubbles bad. Or vice versa. Can’t keep it straight.

Reminds me that I need to take the last of my moonshine and share it with my father-in-law at his gravesite for Christmas.

Merry Christmas, Dad. Sure do miss you.
