Beijing orders microbloggers to register real names

Beijing city authorities on Friday issued new rules requiring microbloggers to register their real names before posting online, as the Chinese government tightens its grip on the Internet.

The city government now requires users of weibos -- the Chinese version of Twitter -- to give their real names to website administrators, its official news portal said.

The new rules will apply to weibo operators based in Beijing, which include Sina -- owner of China's most popular microblogging service which has more than 200 million users.

"Websites with weibo operations must establish and improve a system of content censorship," according to the new rules.

Obammy is working as we speak, to make it illegal for you to use a fake name on the internet. He wants everyone using their real names so the left can get the politically incorrect out of their jobs and harassed. When an employer goes looking for your posting history, Obama wants him finding your real idenity.

There are plenty in this country who would like to see us all use our real names on the internet. The Democrats pushed this in 2004 with some kind of internet ID.

Are these these the same block heads who also scream and whine about voter ID?

So Free Speech must also come accompanied with the threats of retaliatory thuggery, while suffrage can be anonymous and fraudulent.

In this age where the government couldn't care less about rampant ID theft, and it must be managed by private companies because the government refuses to prosecute - it seems that it would be a cottage industry to swipe the names and identities of certain people and post all kinds of material that would likely have them blacklisted.
