I read than barely 2% of the British go to church regularly. You cannot be born a Christian as you can be born Jewish. Being a Christian requires an active faith, not a passive one.

Yes. I think David Cameron senses the truth, but he wants what Christianity offers without active faith. Nevertheless, it’s a first step. At least he realizes something is going wrong without understanding the spiritual war that is being fought around him.

It’s true that most people in the UK used to live by Christian ethics even if they weren’t particularly devoted followers themselves. In other words, Christian ethics were part of their culture, and they benefited even if some of them didn’t understand the source of their success or rejected it.

Unfortunately, I think Western civilization is reaching the end of the line. We’ve reached a critical mass of unbelievers and our social institutions no longer incorporate or pass down the requisite ethics. I hate to say it, but big government is the natural result of a citizenry that is unable to govern itself.
