Newt Gingrich got into all sorts of trouble a few days ago when he claimed: There was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. Weve had an invented Palestinian people who are in fact Arabs and who were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go many places.
Newt, youre completely correct, and this is one of the bravest and most intellectually informed things any of the Republican candidates have said so far.
Contrary to what you might hear from leftists, labour leaders, students and manipulative Arab activists carefully pulling on the emotional heart-strings of gullible westerners, the Palestinians as an identified group trace their ancestry not as with the Jews back thousands of years, but to 1920.
Until then, Arabs living in what we now know as Israel regarded themselves as Muslim or Christians, and not as Palestinians.
For centuries they had been subjects of the Ottoman Empire, and as Arabs did not recognize any particular national boundaries, and felt commonality with Muslims in Algeria or Yemen rather than Christians who lived in the next village.
Ottoman maps and records, and the writings of foreign travellers, do not speak of Palestine or Palestinians.
It was the British, who had taken the region from the Turks during the First World War, who in 1920 formed Palestine, just as they artificially created nations all over their empire.
The local Arabs were stunned, and resistant.
The Muslims explained that this Palestine meant nothing, and that they were southern Syrians, loyal to Damascus.
It was the vehemently pro-Nazi, anti-Semitic Amin el-Husseini, the so-called Mufti of Jerusalem who, when he wasnt praising Hitler as the new messiah and demanding the Nazis extend the Holocaust to the Middle East, developed the idea of the Palestine homeland, partly because the French had taken Syria.
From the 1920s on, this new phantom would come to dominate the Arab narrative.
Where no nation had existed, one had to be born. To the point where, today, we are obliged to listen to young men and women born in Canada, shouting at us about the plight of their Palestinian ancestors, and how they want nothing more than to return to the country and the land to which they belong. Oh Palestine, I was told by a protester in Toronto just a few months ago, we need you as a child needs a mother.
Not much of a mom though, and not often at home or looking after the kids. Of course people who once lived in the area no longer live there, and of course there were crimes committed and injustices perpetrated.
But nothing on the scale of the million Jews expelled from the Arab world, who can trace their lineage with far greater depth and longevity than the alleged Palestinians.
But Palestine is fashionable, the Jewish/Christian temple never existed, the Jews all came from Poland, and lies become truth.
Newt, for all of your failings, you had the courage to speak truth to power this week, and for that we all should be grateful.
Any pal of honesty is a pal of mine, if not stine.
It takes guts and I admire and respect him for saying it. About time some of these taboos get kicked to the curb.
Pssst. Don’t tell anyone but even as we speak it’s not even a country now, foreseeable future.
Newt finally called a Fakestinian a Fakestinian. Bout time.
I refer any lefties and the media that happen to read this, to former PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein:
Quote:
“The Palestinian people does not exist.
The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.
In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.
For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem.
However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”
The only reason the “Palestinians” exist is so genocidal Muslims can convince gullible leftists to support them in their quest to exterminate the Jews.
Hat tip to Oleg Atbashian for this.
Nor is it now.
In at least one of the Olympics before WWII, there was a delegation from Palestine.
Every member of the team was a Jew.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
Newt should have used the correct term - “Palisimian”.
A fake country full of fake people with an even faker religion.

It still isn’t a country and never has been.
There was no country of Palestine. Someone created a list of questions to ask in a search for proof that “Palestine” existed as a country before 1947/48.
I recall a couple criteria:
1. Show us their history books
2. Show us their newspapers
3. Show us their land titles
4. Show us their passports
5. Who were their leaders? (Arafat arose in 1967 as a pawn of Nasser’s Egypt but apparently was around in the 50’s).
6. What countries around the world recognized and had diplomatic relations with the country “Palestine” before 1947/48, 1967, 1973, 1980’s, 1990’s? Recognizing a terrorist organization, the PLO, doesn’t mean recognizing a country.
7. What were the names of Palestine’s diplomat?
I think you get the drift of these questions.
THERE WAS NO PALESTINE, AND ANYONE WHO WAS CALLED A PALESTINIAN WAS A SUBJECT OF GREAT BRITAIN UNDER THE BRITISH MANDATE. Previously they were subjects of the Ottoman Empire.
No Arab country existed before 1923 or so, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Dubai, Oman?, Jordan, except ancient Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and perhaps the seaport city/state of Aden.
I’d start with Egypt and several that were around a long time ago.
“It takes guts and I admire and respect him for saying it. About time some of these taboos get kicked to the curb.”
Newt was pretty far down my list of choices, but HE KICKED ASS here. In particular, he pointed out how the Palestinians raise their kids to HATE JEWS and CELEBRATE their suffering and deaths...even in their grade school textbooks.
I remember Bibi pointing that same thing out 15 years ago...and President Clinton telling him (essentially) to “get over it” and sign a deal.
Great for Newt.
and the man Newt wants for his VP also knows history =

15 Facts About Palestine that You Wont Hear in the Mainstream Media
I wrote this nearly 10 years ago, but after hearing Chris Cotter on Fox News Redeye so confidently declare
following words, I thought it was time to edit and resend:
Referring to Helen Thomas statement that the Jews should get the hell out of Palestine Cotter
said,[Thomas] remembers [before 1948] when Palestine was a nation. Somehow, a reporter on the Fox Business
Channel assumed that Israel came into being by taking over an Arab country called Palestine. Hopefully he knows his stocks
better than his history. Sadly no one on the show, including Greg Gutman, the Jewish host, corrected him. So I will
No Mr. Cotter, Palestine was not a nation in 1947, 46 or 45, not in 1847 or 1047 or 47. In fact, Palestine has never been a
nation. To be fair, so many, not just Cotter, simply assume these things from what they pick up in the media. So let us look
at these 15 facts.
I. Palestine was NOT an Arab nation that the Jews came in and took over after the UN vote in 1947.
A. Great Britain in fact controlled that region of the Middle East until she grew tired of governing the volatile area and
asked the UN to decide what to do with it.
B. Before Great Britain won the land in WWI, the Turks had controlled it since the early 1500s. Turks are not Arabs.
C. In fact, Palestine has never been the name of any country!
II. Where did the name come from?
A. The Romans!
B. In an effort to rid Judea of its Jewishness, the Romans renamed the area Filistia (Palestine) in the mid-130s AD.
They were tired of pesky Jewish uprisings and so decided to deport the Jews and change the name. The name came from
the ancient Philistines (who have no connection to present day Arabs. The Philistines were wiped out in 1200 BC).[i]
C. It was a region not a nation. There has never been a president of Palestine (before Arafat), or a government of
Palestine! It could be compared to New England, which is a region in America and has no government.
III. The UN Vote did not merely give Israel authority to create a state, but granted to the Arabs living on the West
side of the Jordan river to also create an independent country.
A. The Arabs rejected it. They could have had their own nation in 1948, but they said no.
B. The Jews accepted it and on May 14th, 1948 Israel was re-birthed.
C. The Arabs became part of Jordan.
IV. When the PLO was created Jordan controlled the West Bank.
A. The goal of the PLO was to liberate Palestine. However the West Bank was already in Arab hands.
B. They wanted Israel.
C. In other words, if their goal was to create an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank, they shouldve been
fighting Jordan not Israel!
D. Of course, their goal was Israels demise.
V. Before Israel was re-birthed in 1948, any person who lived in that region was considered Palestinian:
Arab or Jew. The Jewish newspaper was called the Palestine Post.
A. QUESTIONS:
1. Why would any Jew name his newspaper after another people group?
2. Why would any Jew name his paper after an Arab country?
VI. Jerusalem was the first capital of Israel under King David. It has never been the capital of any other country
- Including the fictitious Palestine. It has never (until Israel controlled it) been significant to Arabs.
A. In others words you will not find these words in the Koran, but the Hebrew Scriptures:
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof
of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. (Ps. 137: 5-6)
VII. When Israel captured Jerusalem, it was not from Palestinians, but from Jordan.
A. Questions:
1. Why didnt Palestinians demand Jerusalem, when Jordan controlled it (1948-1967)?
2. Why didnt the Jordanians create an independent Palestinian state with the West Bank? It was certainly in their
power? The reason is simple. Jordanians made no distinction between Arabs that lived east of the Jordan and those who
lived west of the Jordan. They were all Jordanian.
VIII. Israel had no plans on attacking Jordan during the Six Day War. However, King Hussein believed the false
reports from Egyptian President Nasser of Egypt that they were winning the war. King Hussein, in hopes of getting
more land, attacked Israel and his troops were driven back over the Jordan River in a matter of days. That is how
Israel ended up with Jerusalem in 1967.
IX. There is no language known as Palestinian. They speak Arabic like Jordanians and Syrians and Egyptians.
X. There is no rich Palestinian history. You will not find history books that detail Palestinian culture going back
centuries.
XI. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (a nation created by Great Britain 1922), Syrians,
Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.
XII. Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of one percent of the
landmass.[ii]
XIII. When the Jewish people began to return to Palestine in the late 1800s:
A. The Turks, not the Arabs, controlled it
B. Every bit of Land was paid for by the returning Jewsnothing was stolen!
XIV. Israel was a swamp-infested wasteland that no one, including the Arabs really cared about. Until the Jews
returned the land suffered neglect. It was only after the Jews came back and made the land prosperous and fruitful
again and developed a nation, that the fictitious Palestinian history was developed.
XV. Religious Significance of Jerusalem
A. Jerusalem or Zion appears nearly ONE THOUSAND times in the Old and New Covenants, whereas it appears in
the Koran exactly ZERO times!
The last thing that should be noted is that I wrote this to gets the facts out about Palestine. While the history may be made up,
the Arabs who live among us here in Israel are real people who were made in Gods image. We must pray for their salvation.
[i] At the time of Christ the Jewish state was ruled by puppet kings of the Romans, the Herods. When the Jews revolted in 66
AD, the Romans destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem (70 AD). The Bar Kokba revolt between 132 and 135 AD was also
suppressed, Jericho and Bethlehem were destroyed, and the Jews were barred from Jerusalem. The Roman Emperor Hadrian
determined to wipe out the identity of Israel-Judah-Judea. Therefore, he took the name Palastina and imposed it on all the
Land of Israel. At the same time, he changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina. The Romans killed many Jews and
sold many more in slavery. Some of those who survived left the devastated country (and established Jewish communities
throughout the Middle East) but there was never a complete abandonment of the Land of Israel. That is, there were always
Jews and Jewish communities in Palestine, though the size and conditions of those communities fluctuated greatly. (Palestine

Egypt, as the British would say, “is across the pond” and doesn’t count re the Arabian peninsula region/Sinai/Negev areas.
They messed with the early Israelis, once, and got “all wet”. You’d think they would learn, but NOOOO! Only Mubarak had half a brain in his dealings with modern Israel. Sadat wasn’t too bad but I’m afraid that new information shows he had alterior motives in why he made peace with Israel.
Not responsive to my point.
Yeah.
I have a comment.
EVERYONE KNOWS THE TRUTH.
Having the balls to follow words with action is an entirely different animal.
The Israeli’s stay.
All the moslems get bulldozed into mass graves.
No, but it was 2,000 to 5,000 years ago. Big difference, eh?
