Members of the House of Representatives are being told that no holiday greetings, including “Merry Christmas,” can be sent out in official mail.
According to the Washington Examiner, members who submit official mailings for review by the congressional franking commission that reviews all congressional mail to determine if it can be "franked," or paid for with tax dollars, are being told that no holiday greetings, including "Merry Christmas," can be sent.
"I called the commission to ask for clarification and was told no 'Merry Christmas.' Also told cannot say 'Happy New Year' but can say 'have a happy new year' – referencing the time period of a new year, but not the holiday," a Hill staffer who requested anonymity told the paper.

So who’s in charge of this “franking” commission? Is it a House member or an appointed bureaucrat? If the latter, who appointed him/her? If the former, when’s he/she up for re-election?
Well, “frankly,” I’d frank the damned things myself. I am having a very difficult time understanding the idiocy that eminates from our “politically correct” bunch of anal-retentive overseers. I would dearly love to kick that which they are “retaining.”

This is a small but illustrative example of the harm being done by the anonymous bureaucratic establishment in Washington. Multiply this by a hundred, a thousand new regulations and rules created out of nowhere, and the zone of freedom slowly contracts, bit by bit.
And of course, the spineless wimps they all are, sheepishly obliged.
It's a House committee, chaired by Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA, Sacramento area). He's also the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies.
He will be up for re-election in 2012 and, according to Wikipedia's entry on him, "The National Journal's Cook Political Report named Lungren the Republican most vulnerable to redistricting in 2012."

I’m not bothered at all by this. They are still completely free to send any holiday greetings they choose to whomever they wish ... at their OWN expense.

THE LEFT is so entrenched in our government bureaucracies they are ruling us. The elected representation are temporary (relative), but the bureaucrats are forever ‘til they die. We are almost married to them.
WE MUST HAVE someone with the experience of the political system, and the desire as POTUS to address as we wish an ALL AMERICAN CONGRESS, and pursue stripping the Federal government of ALL of the Leftist instilled anti Constitutional Socialist garbage creating havoc, and expanding government beyond the Founder’s intent.
It’s our government, and theirs only to wring their hands as representative Public Servants of our will if they disagree. Why are we the ones wringing our hands, and pleading to them?
