Punky see, Punky do?
I loved Perry’s response in the debate on F&F.
“If my AG said he knew nothing, he would be fired”
Had a weird experience today.
I was headed to the store, backed out of the drive way and saw somebody low to the ground in my yard.
I freaked. WTF? I flew back into the driveway pistol at the ready and yelled Hey!
At that moment I realized it was the new neighbor and I saw he was retrieving a small dog.
Red alert off.. I apologized for being aggressive and told the guy I didnt realize it was him and that he was retrieving the dog, all the while scritching the pups ears.
The fellow seems nice enough and he is training the pup for hunting, she just wanted to see my pup.
Heck of a way to introduce myself.
Hey, at least you were alert!!
You just never know anymore. There were some home invasions up in Georgetown last week. In an upscale area.
I’m going to try to get to the range next week to zero my new (to me) Eotech. I’ll put it on the M&P 15.
That leaves me with an extra Vortex Strikefire if anyone is interested.
It was weird cuz he was down low by the fence.
What I didnt realize was that he was low because he was holding the dog, which I did not see.
The guy must think I am an ass, but I never uncovered, so no harm no foul.
I think you’ll like that EOtech.
I am set for scopes at the moment.
Went Saturday to my ccw renewal class. 4 hours with about one hour on the range (indoor) for about 35 students. We shot 3, 5 & 7 yds at sillouette paper with orders to hit center-mass inside the lines. You’d be amazed the number of folks who had to re-shoot due to poor target control...... and this was a renewal class. Criminals in my neck of the woods can rest a little easier.
All I want for Christmas is an AR10.
Now you'll have to buy another gun to put under it!
No harm, no foul.
Yea, maybe an AR 10 too.
Thoughts on the .327?
The first time I went, the line was crowded and there was a young gal like 1.5 foot to the right of me.
I felt uneasy bringing the fire arm to bear with her so close to the weapon.
I missed the first shot at 3 yds LoL
I settled in after that and placed them all.
I’m betting you did it without a “do-over”, am I right?
Greetings mylife and the rest of y’all
Picked up a slug barrel for the Mossberg a few weeks back from a guy at work cheep :-) Hope to get it installed over the Christmas holidays.
I am unfamiliar with it, but have heard positive things.
My only concern would be availability and price of ammo
Going deer hunting?
They say it delivers more energy than a .357 but in a compact revolver.
I seem to get into things like 10mm, 308ME and such. I love me some 308ME though. Flat and fast!
Yeah, I made it without a do-over, but I think I know why so many failed........ This felt like the coldest place on earth. To combat lead issues, they had a ventilation system akin to a wind tunnel that bounced the hanging targets and pumped mountains of very cold outside air all over us poor shooters. Most of us had the shakes.
Maybe next year, I figure with a slug barrel I have a good all round home defense gun. Ought to be able to deal with threats out to about 100 yards, not that I have that much range in all directions.
Loaded with #4 for close in work at the moment but the 28” barrel now on it is less than ideal for around the house.
It wakes you up to shoot under conditions that you wouldn’t normally shoot in.
My Brother is house sitting for my Aunt, My Uncle just died and she went to Minnysota to spend Christmas with her daughter.
Any How.. My Uncle was a butcher and bro says he has a 220vdc industrial meat grinder along with a ton of other stuff of the trade.
We immediately thought Feral hog snausage!
Have you shot any hogs with the ME?
Oh, I would leave on the smoothbore for home defense.
Oh, I would leave on the smoothbore for home defense.
The length is an issue though.
Its Black Friday and Americas biggest mall is jammed with 10,000 shoppers and 12 terrorists. In Soft Target, the new thriller by Pulitzer Prize (for film criticism) winner Stephen Hunter, just three men stand between certain death for the shoppers and any hope at rescue. Theres Ray Cruz, a former Marine sniper whos one of the hundreds of shoppers trapped in the mall. Hes got a plan for turning the tables on the terrorists, but he doesnt have a gun. Outside the mall, FBI agent Dave McElroy has a gun, but his superiors have tied his hands; all he can do is watch as the terrorists put their deadly plan into action. Also outside is State Police Commandant Douglas Obodo, in charge of negotiating with the terrorists. Hes determined to resolve the situation peacefully, but the gunmen have other plans ones that involve as many dead bodies as possible.
Sounds like a good read.
This is an interesting program.
Well we will see how it works out. I need to clean up the finish a bit. Will have some pics in a few weeks I hope.
Have to sign off as 0400 will be here all to soon, take care and a Merry Christmas to you and all the denizens of the Gun Talk thread.
LOL. I was on line a couple of hours ago to my local library, putting that book on reserve. Really like his writing.
I handled the LCR in .38 at a sporting goods store yesterday, and really liked the way Ruger made a DAO revolver with a smooth acceptable trigger. With the concealed hammer, my wife wouldn't have to worry about snagging it in that massive cave she calls a purse!
I know the .22 isn't major firepower, but standing in the path of 8 rounds of .22HP still ain't on my "to do" list.
I’m low speed - high drag.
Merry Christmas Alfa!
I get to sleep in til 5:30, then I go on holiday break Tues.
I put 50 rounds through a 38spl version a while back. It’s so light, the recoil stings your hand after a while.
I hear good things about that Ruger DA trigger.
If you don’t mind my asking, what were the time/shot placement requirements for the range portion of the renewal?
We don’t have range tests for CC where I live, and I’ve always wondered what a test would consist of: how many shots, how quickly, inside how big a diameter?
They sting like hell with 158 grain semi wad cutters!
G’night sir. I’m on vacation this week, so I’ll be going in bright and early tomorrow.
I get to hand out Christmas bonuses for the first time in 3 years!
Yeah, at roughly 14 ounces, there’s gonna be a little kick involved. At least the quality grips they use helps a little.
I commented on that 22 LCR thread. Other than for cheap practise, I can't see any use for a 22lr snubbie. As for recoil for the wife, you might move at least up to a 22wmr snubbie. Lots of them out there and they pack a much bigger punch. You could get a 327magnum snubbie and run non-magnum 32's thru it. You could also get a 38pcl, which is pretty low recoil if not one of the +p's.
