More recently it's been determined that the Polynesian base began on the Chinese mainland directly across from Formosa. That's also the beginning of the Malay,

The earlier belief was that Chinese culture in that particular area had arrived as Northern Chinese moved South. Instead the people in the South developed improved boats AND learned to raise wheat on their islands (as the land raises and subsides quite a bit in that area).

Thanks to you both for pings. Interesting thread. China’s puppet (N. Korea) continues in the age of their darkness.

What happened when the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain came down? It has taken a number of years to accommodate that change.

I thought about adding "korea" as a keyword but why screw up the thread?

It's times like this that I really wish we had a Facebook-style "Like" button on FR posts.

That would be small compared to dealing with the mindset of N.Koreans who are so completely brainwashed.....one does wonder though if 'some' might just not have swallowed the nonsense and just waiting for the leadership change to oppose them.....

The problem is communication is so very dangerous as family memebers watch each other as much as the police do. There is little if any trust elements possible.

Yanbian Prefecture. I know people from there. They are neither Chinese nor Korean yet they are both.

See Yellow Sea, a SK film from last year that opened around USA two weeks ago. The first segments were filmed in Yanbian.

And how about the Germans after WWII? It took seven years for the US forces to get rid of the Nazi sympathizers who were committing acts of guerrilla warfare them. Plus the country had been obliterated by the bombing during the war.

N.Korea has nothing to build upon...most everything would have to be taken down first and a whole new infrastructure built throughout the nation. And who has the cash to do that? Especially with the worlds economic slide currently.

Corporations who have wanted to set up there simply cannot for the infrastructure cannot come close to accomodating them. The frustration of companies who have tried is beyond believable.....it’s just not there..... Let alone accomodating workers, who would surely have to be brought in to do the work..... Though S. Koreans might be willing they’d have to draw from other nations as well just for the sheer number of workers it would require.

It took 40 years to rebuild Germany because every last bit of infrastructure was bombed and blown up to smithereens. Like I said before it is going take a while to rebuild NorKland. Take a look at the inner areas of Detroit. That city needs rebuilding, too, after the war the Left made upon it.

Oh yeah, Detroit looks like a war zone....and you’re right the left did that...just as they do in any city where they gain power. Look at Pittsburgh...it has nothing but hospitals, casino’s and sports arenas....fun city until nobody has any money to spend there. Then it’ll go down the tubes.

I live in Bavaria and regarding your points on Standard German, Austrian German, culture differences, etc, can tell you...you are absolutely correct.

I can’t take credit for that — I have a friend from Switzerland who is a German philologist and she told me that.
