Appearing on Fox News Channels Red Eye last night, conservative firebrand and frequent courter of controversy, Ann Coulter told the panel that if the choice for the Republican presidential nominee came down to Texas Rep. Ron Paul or former House Speaker Newt Gingrich she would prefer Paul.
She stops short of suggesting that she would vote for Paul in a third party bid as conservative radio host Glenn Beck recently suggested, but Coulter has serious reservations (like most editorial board GOPers) about Gingrichs big government conservatism.
While Coulter curries much favor among the Tea Party Republican set, not all who are inclined to agree with her combative Republicanism agree with her.
Popular conservative columnist Joshua Treviño took to Twitter to echo the sentiments of many in the Republican establishment when he colorfully expressed his reservations about Pauls untraditional foreign policy perspectives.

I don’t. Used to, but not any more.
So would I but since that probably won’t happen I’ll settle for Gingrich.
I’m disappointed. Again.
Maybe
I’m starting to think Ann has jumped the shark. First she spends all summer pushing the RINO (at least on social issues) Chris Christie, then last week she says Mitt Romney is the only real conservative in the race (with a straight face). Now she is claiming the Old Kook Paul would be a better candidate than Newt.
Ron Paul is a Henry Wallace Progressive:
Anyone looking for Ann Coulter will find her “around the bend.”
Her whole angle is to sell her books.
Not surprising. There’s a good case to be made that, despite the perception among many FReepers that Gingrich is “establishment,” he actually was pushed out BY the establishment for being too conservative. Ann Coulter is a major RINO, so it’s not surprising that she has an antipathy toward him.
She’s just jealous of Callista’s bling
Ping to Ann.
How about canceling the lurk mode and come explain this crap. You are getting harder and harder to defend and this one is way over that line.
I don’t know what happened to Coulter. I used to like her I’m a Chris Christie fan for the way he stood up to the teachers’ union, but Coulter lost me with her over-the-top adoration of him. Going from Christie to Paul is quite a leap.
Why do people listen to her? Because men have been enamored of her. Women?? Not so much. Personally, I have long thought she’s not heterosexual.
She’s finally revealed her true colors. I assume that she is now on FR’s s%&tlist, and we’ll be seeing no more adoring commentary here.
Hell, considering we are fighting an activist Marxist, even a swishy ‘establishment’ Republican doesn’t look all that bad.
Better than a fraud moderate-libertarian.
This from the lady pimping Christie and then Romney.
Kinda of a stupid question considering you are spreading her video all over freeper land. You should ask, why do I post this if I do not want anyone to hear it? Dude you are twisted.
Note my tagline - I am on board with Newt.
Go Ron Go!
Fred...
When did you become a convert?
This twit has lost it completely. Sorry Ann, you are done and might as well join the liberal camp. Still see you on Fox lately so I just use the mute button.
There is nothing conservative about her!! She writes books to make the cash - but is a liberal at heart.
I can't stand her anymore. Acting like a 'know it all' & saying you're a conservative does not make you one. She's really a Romney backer & saying the Ron Paul stuff to get some more face time.
Romney's big government statism, on the other hand ... is okay by her.
I would prefer that Ann wouldn’t even be featured on Foxnews because her opinions don’t amount to a hill of beans.
She also said she would support Hillary over McCain in 2008.
Uh, about now I would prefer most anyone to asshat Ann. She must get her talking points from her best friend Bill Maher.
Ann Turn-Coater.
I stopped reading her and haven't watched even a minute of her since she called the Article 2 Section1 defenders “CRANKS” and then used the KKK to further drive home her sharp point. Some things are deal killers.
Since then, every few months or so, Coulter makes some comment that justifies my belief that she has completely “jumped the shark”!
Sorry, Mitt Twits lack conservative credibility, and their opinions about candidates are worthless.
She is as crazy as Ron paul and still a skinny dyke.
All over the map lately.
After what Paul said of Santorum & Bachman on Leno??
And DADT position of Paul for months now?
Incredible.
I am with you. What has she accomplished in her life that makes her someone I would take advise off of? She produces books. She is a political pundit that is attractive and used to be conservative. I take her opinion no more than Paris Hilton.
Abortion:
I am strongly pro-life. I think one of the most disastrous rulings of this century was Roe versus Wade. I do believe in the slippery slope theory. I believe that if people are careless and casual about life at the beginning of life, we will be careless and casual about life at the end. Abortion leads to euthanasia. I believe that. As an O.B. doctor of thirty years, and having delivered 4,000 babies, I can assure you life begins at conception. I am legally responsible for the unborn, no matter what I do, so theres a legal life there. The unborn has inheritance rights, and if theres an injury or a killing, there is a legal entity. There is no doubt about it.As a Congressman, Ive never voted for any budget that includes funding for Planned Parenthood. Instead, Ive introduced the Taxpayers Freedom of Conscience Act to cut off all taxpayer funding of abortions, so-called family planning services and international abortionists.
Separation of Church and State
The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers. On the contrary, our Founders political views were strongly informed by their religious beliefs.
Affirmative Action
All rights are individuals. We do not get our rights because we belong to a group. Whether its homosexuals, women, minorities, it leads us astray. You dont get your rights belonging to your group. A group cant force themselves on anybody else. So there should be no affirmative action for any group. The concept of equal pay for equal work is not only an impossible task, it can only be accomplished with the total rejection of the idea of the voluntary contract. The idea that a businessman must hire anyone and is prevented from firing anyone for any reason he chooses, and in the name of rights, is a clear indication that the basic concept of a free society has been lost.
Immigration
More and more of my constituents are asking me when Congress will address the problem of illegal immigration. The public correctly perceives that neither political party has the courage to do what is necessary to prevent further erosion of both our border security and our national identity.
Second Amendment
"Mr. Speaker, I rise today as a firm believer in the Second amendment and an opponent of all federal gun laws. In fact, I have introduced legislation, the Second Amendment Restoration Act (HR 153), which repeals misguided federal gun control laws such as the Brady Bill and the assault weapons ban. I believe the Second amendment is one of the foundations of our constitutional liberties. Specifically, my legislation repeals the five-day waiting period and the "instant" background check, which enables the federal government to compile a database of every gun owner in America. My legislation also repeals the misnamed ban on "semi-automatic" weapons, which bans entire class of firearms for no conceivable reason beside the desire of demagogic politicians to appear tough on crime. Finally, my bill amends the Gun Control Act of 1968 by deleting the "sporting purposes" test, which allows the Treasury Secretary to infringe on second amendment rights by classifying a firearm (handgun, rifle, shotgun) as a "destructive device" simply because the Secretary believes the gun to be "non-sporting."
Yep, clearly a liberal... /s
Good Conservatives will not and they have the money.
Liberals/occupiers/welfare can't buy them, they have no money.
She has sold her soul.
“Why do people listen to her?”
good question, but there was a time ......
Just a thought of her hatred for NEWT, perhaps it is because HE has all the ideas, and she would not have anything more to write about.
But Annie just loves worse big government non-conservatism from Romney?! Ann is so out to lunch on this one. I don't understand it.
I am with you. What has she accomplished in her life that makes her someone I would take advise off of? She produces books. She is a political pundit that is attractive and used to be conservative. I take her opinion no more than Paris Hilton.

Coulter’s popularity AND income is tanking big time. She has repeatedly bitten the only hand that feeds her. So now she thinks she is so clever to shock her way back into the fold of legitimate commentary to sell her crappy books.
She has become even more nutty than RUN Paul and Glenn (ECHH!) Beck.
This about sums up what happened to her. She has become a a lib thru injection.
Andrew Stein (born Andrew J. Finkelstein March 4, 1945) was a Democratic politician who served on the New York City Council and was its last President, and as Manhattan Borough President. Stein’s father is Jerry Finkelstein, the retired multi-millionaire publisher of the New York Law Journal, among other publications. Andrew Stein shortened his name when he entered politics.

“Look at me! Look at me! I still matter! I sti-ill ma-aa-aa-tt-tt-eer!”
and I would prefer Laura Ingram over Ann Coulter
or better yet...Martha McCallum
Coulter is starting to look like a carictature
She hit on Newt and he rejected her. Seriously, she’s behaving as a woman scorned right now.
I have lost all interest in Ann Coulter.
