O‘Reilly Asks Romney if Obama Is ’a Socialist’ & He Says…
TheBlaze.com ^ | Dec. 20, 2011 | Becket Adams

Posted on 12/20/2011 9:00:36 AM PST by broken_arrow1

"Is he a socialist?” asks FOX News’s blunt television host Bill O’Reilly.

“I prefer to use the term that ‘he’s just over his head,’” the former governor of Massachusetts responds with what he must have thought was a safe answer.

“Yeah, but you gotta’ look at his economic plan, and that economic plan was top down, federal leadership getting us out of the recession — we spent trillions of dollars–and people say, ‘Listen, the guy’s a socialist!‘ It’s class warfare; that‘s what he’s going to wage against you if you get the nomination,” O’Reilly says, gesturing towards Romney.

“You’re a rich guy, you’re out of touch,” the host adds.

Concluding his prediction that Romney should prepare for “class warfare” should he earn the GOP nomination, Bill O’Reilly repeats the question.

“Is he a socialist?”

“You know, I consider him a ‘big government’ liberal democrat. I think as you look at his policies, you conclude that he thinks Europe got it right and we got it wrong,” Romney answered, again avoiding the question.

“I think Europe got it wrong. I think Europe is not working in Europe and I’ll battle him on that day in and day out,” Romney added.

If Romney gets the GOP nomination, he is NOT getting my vote. Obama is a full-on Communist, and Romney can't even mutter the watered down label of Socialist? I would rather vote Third Party for Ron Paul...at least you know what you are getting.

Yeah, you'd be getting the only conservative in the race.

I always thought venture capitalists (community organizers with more cash) had more cojones than that. It is the same thing as McCain. "Don't say anything mean about Obama and maybe he'll like you and the moderates will vote for you.

Good grief, that is the same premise as Ron Paul's foreign policy.

I agree about not supporting Romney in either primary or general elections.

However, I could never recommend Paul. He is clearly anti-Israel, and one article last week made a decent case that he is an anti-semite.

Beyond that, at the Huckabee forum Paul simply couldn’t explain how he would go about cutting all those departments. He had no idea, and that meant to me he was just tossing red meat.

Worse, of course, are his foreign policy ideas:

1. He wants Iran to have a nuke (supports his anti-Israeli position.)

2. Not only does he not believe in an active offensive approach to national security, but he also doesn’t believe in an active defense. Paul supports a passive defense, and that is isolationism at its worst.

3. He’s a terrible debater, has confused-looking facial expressions, and he’ll be slaughtered in a debate with Obama.

I am so sick of this cr@p. Romney won't call Obama a socialist because ROMNEY himself is a socialist.

If this tool wins the nomination, I am off the reservation and may never come back.

Romney doesn't want to call him a socialist only because he knows that the response will be "that's the pot calling the kettle black".

No Romney, no way. Like it or not, that means Newt.

This brings back memories of the McCain campaign. Has to play “nice-nice”. Can’t bring up Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayres, etc. I think we’ll be getting McCain redux if Romney gets the nomination.

Graewoulf on Romney: “You know, I consider him a ‘big government’ liberal republican. “

Both Romney and O’ Reilly don’t want to call Obama a socialist. Why? Because it would alienate the middle who voted for Obama. Nobody wants to be reminded of how badly they were mistaken in the previous election.

While the GOP plays the same game as they did in 1996 and 2008, I'm more interested in voting in the most conservative candidates down ticket. At the very least, it can pull the President in a direction if the outcry in the country is strong enough.

One thing is for certain, I am NOT a fan of Romney, and resent the establishment trying to shove him down our throats. It should make people more determined to weed those scumbags out of the GOP.

But really? RUN Paul? If so, then get yourself ready for World War 3. He will pull our troops out of every enemy stronghold on the Planet and Iran will nuke Israel, just for starters. But first, they will over run Iraq to get all that ME Oil.
