“Grant the drinker”

Yup. Supposedly Lincoln wanted to send a case of whatever whiskey Grant was drinking to his other generals.

I seem to remember that Lincoln commented on McClellan's habit of signing his reports something like "headquarters in the saddle" to which Lincoln told him that's where his hind quarters belonged.

I did find this with a cursory search:

"'I have just read your dispatch about sore-tongued and fatigued horses, Will you pardon me for asking what the horses of your army have done since the Battle of Antietam that fatigues anything?' Lincoln to McClellan, October 25, 1862"

They come here, get a great education and we don't let 'em stay when they graduate. That's wrong, says Trump.

Yeah great, Mr. Trump. Let the Chi-Com kids, et al. stay here and work anywhere. Why not just send the intellectual property, technology, management skills, everything directly to Red China!

Wot? We already have? It's called "free trade." Oh.
