Vanity: Why did the GOP Senators vote for a two month extension in SS contribution cut? Why did the GOP Senators not hold out for the congress one year extension?
A high turnover in the house benefits who?
A low turnover in the house in the coming elections benefit who?
The answer to the first is anybody but bonehead.
the Second: Bonehead.
Any new influx of Tea partiers in the house and Bonehead is gone.
Thank You. They deserve our utmost support. The rest can fend their action at the ballot box.
As a young American, I'll take my chances with this tax cut, considering I won't get anything back anyways - and I in fact expect that the Feds will try to directly confiscate my 401(k) and other tax-advantaged accounts irrespective.
Kirk is NOT and NEVER will be one of the “good guys.”
Corker is a RINO.
Of that list, there are probably two or three actual conservatives, including DeMint.
Wanna cry? Listen to this-—30 minutes you’ll be glad you spent listening——and, then, send it to as many people as you can:
Social Security is NOT an insurance program.
Social Security is an inter-generational Ponzi scheme, a program of wealth redistribution designed to Balkanize the population, increase dependency on the Federal government, and serve as a slush fund for establishment politicans.
The Supreme Court has already ruled that Congress can change the terms of the program at any time.
As such, you paid a tax, not a contribution.
EricT,
The sad part is most posters here don’t seem to get the bigger picture. While all of the debate about this payroll tax cut is merely
peanuts, they ignore what the house, senate and president just did.
ram through another 1 trillion dollar spending bill and debate about payroll peanuts. Go figure.
Then why can’t we claim it as a tax? Why is it called FICA? and not FTCA? I’m not arguing that SS is or is not a PONZI scheme. It is what it is. Whether you like it or not. This Bill is about defunding it. Period.
I know. They get all caught up with the gamesmanship, as if it were their favorite college football team playing.
America is about to collapse and people are focused on inconsequential bullsquat.
The worst part is that when you point it out, a few of them will jump all over you for not joining in the stupidity.
>> I’ll take my chances with this tax cut
Unfortunately, it’s not a tax cut. It’s a deferral that will not be adjusted when the current crew retreats to collect their share.
You may be young, but you’re not one of the children that are having their future pillaged to serve scumbags.
FICA is a tax.
That’s your opinion! Try claiming it on your Federal Taxes.
There are numerous taxes that you can't claim.
FICA is just another tax of similar nature.
Congress could make FICA a deduction if they really wanted to. They have that authority.
Why extend it at all?
Why not cut it permanently? Let people keep their own money, to save for their own retirement, instead of taxing them for a ponzi scheme.
It’s a tax, taken out of your paycheck. Why do you want to pay more taxes to the federal government? Why don’t you want to keep your money, to save for yourself and your family?
Then why don’t they? Do you know the history behind that decision?
“The sad part is most posters here dont seem to get the bigger picture.”
You’re right about that. The big picture with this Bill is what is hidden from view. A NEW ADDED VALUE TAX which will be added to very mortgage over $200.000.00.
This is the REAL reason Obama and Dems wanted it passed.
I don’t about you but I’m going to find out if my Reps knew about this hidden tax.
