All it is going to take is for Perry, Bachman and Santorium to drop out by the end of January and Mitten’s and Paul are toast!

I see Ann Coulter is not backing down on her criticisms of Newt. SHe’s in the same column as Peggy Noonan in my book....When she comes on tv I turn the channel, on the radio, I turn her off. I’m off her ping list. Funny, she was my no one before now. Goes to show the true colors of someone comes out when you least expect it.

I’m not head-over-heels about the Republican offerings, but I want Gingrich, whose mixed record has been conservative in particular areas, over Romney who I don’t trust.

Personally I think the Republican’s want to lose the Presidency because there are too many that want to run in 2016...so they are putting up Romney a guaranteed loser.

Hey great idea, GOP. Why don't the Republicans try to lose until 2040. I mean, anybody that's still around by then will almost certainly vote against the Democrats...

No, it isn’t equivalent to sitting in Wright’s church. Every politician of significant stature has “autograph” machines. They are used by every President, for example (but not just Presidents), for signing endorsement letters and other mailings that they NEVER see. I managed a campaign for an R candidate at the state level years ago and obtained a “genuine” RR signature on a fund raising letter. RR never saw the letter, nor did any senior staff. It was all handled by a low-level N-Cal regional operative.

The same is true for direct mail campaigns that politicians have others do on their behalf.

People who have been forced to admit (not you) that RP didn’t write the newsletters or review them are now falling back on the naive (or, in some cases, dishonest) claim that RP is unqualified because he didn’t review all of the mailings. By that standard all of the “heros” of the conservative movement are or were “unqualified”, including RR.

The newsletter claim is old and was dealt with years ago, but apparently the R-Establishment feels it can still get mileage out of it. The brain-dead RP opposition here is inadverently aiding Romney, which is the point of the smear. The Beltway Rs know that Romney will start looking like toast if the Iowa finish is Newt, RP, Romney, and it would put NH in question for Romney.

RP isn’t going to get the nomination (and he won’t run 3rd party - another Beltway meme), but he may play a major role in derailing Mittens - if conservatives can get over an acute case of “gullibilityitis”.

I want Newt to take off the gloves in Iowa.

I will not play the “GWBush let’s not defend ourselves” game again. Even Cheney is now on record saying that was their worst mistake.

Send a letter to Newt. I’m backing him because he will take it to Obama. To get there he is going to have to take it to Obama’s mini-me, Mitt Romney.

“Newt lead is steady and constant, or as the media and GOP Establishment report it: “Tanking.” “

... Right. Drudge banner... Newt in third place! Not a prayer! Fox News... Newt dropping like a rock (of course, they’re using Drudge as a source)...

The more the establishment, RINOs and media pile on Newt, the more I support him.

I am soooo bummed. This morning I heard that if the election were held today, Obama would win hands down. They said his approval rating is 47%....who the HELL are these losers who want this guy to have a second term.

Newt's not doing badly nationally but if Romney wins or places in Iowa and wins NH, the national polls could shift in his favor and following states could get in line with the sure "inevitability" message that will be pounded into skulls daily.

It feels like the threat of a Romney nomination is greater by the day.

It's probably all academic. With the sudden outbreak of rosy unemployment news (yet an economy that grew slower than expected) Obama will be reelected in Nov. For the rest of us, it comes down to damage control through congressional elections.

You got that right!!!!!!! Newt needs money and volunteers. Get on board and do what you can..letters to the editor, phone calls and blog your fingers off. Send letters to Faux News blasting them over their blatant favoritism of Mitt. Let's roll!

Well, Fawn, the “losers” as you call them are the American people, who still have full faith in their 2008 choices. If they reelect Obama, they don’t have to admit that they are wrong.

The thing that is driving him down in Iowa are the relentless negative tv commercials.

With Romney and Paul leading that charge no doubt...looks like they teamed up for this....but then not unexpected since both are Obamas favorites to win.

Thanks for that. Just completed my first for Newt. Too bad I jumped the gun for Cain or Newt would have more. Only so much gas in the tank. Noticed that his website or my computer was acting up inputting the information...double letters, upper and lower case acting up??????

Just remember the Gov. Of Iowa said not to take any heed to how Paul polls....he knows the theatrics happening in his state and the games Pauls playing there along with his supporters.
