Thomas Sowell: I’ll Take Gingrich over Romney
NEWSMAX ^ | Wednesday, 21 Dec 2011 06:05 PM | NewsMax

Economist and conservative author Thomas Sowell says voters should disregard Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s “baggage” and support the former House speaker because defeating President Obama in 2012 is crucial to America’s future.

Sowell cites Gingrich’s solid record of “concrete accomplishments,” which he argues makes him a stronger candidate than former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who pushed through one of the liberal healthcare programs in the nation.
...

He concludes: “Those who want to concentrate on the baggage in Newt Gingrich’s past, rather than on the nation’s future, should remember what Winston Churchill said: ‘If the past sits in judgment on the present, the future will be lost.’ If that means a second term for Barack Obama, then it means we’ve lost, big time.”

Thomas Sowell is a lib, he’s not a real conservative and, and, and... in 5,4,3,2...

I wish we could clone such great minds as Thomas Sowell.

If we can get him to the nomination, Newt will gut Obama like a fish.

This confirms that Thomas Sowell is not part of the RINO establishment. He just confirmed he is an independent thinker. GO NEWT!

No it doesn’t. We work hard for a very strong, conservative House and get more seats in the Senate (and twists the Senate Pubs damn weak arms behind their backs). With the current crop of GOP candidates, we must do our best in Congress to put a balance back in play.

Newt was just on Greta VanSusteren saying Romney is hiding being his nasty attack ads and acting nice and yet his ads are not nice or honest. Newt is asking for a 90 minute debate with Romney to answer these ads. Newt said due to the attack ads, out of necessity, the next debates are not going to be so nice. STAY TUNED FOLKS.

I’d agree. It’s important to have a sense of perspective here. We aren’t going to win this in just one election.

Newt is a man of ideas. Mitt is a man of focus group-tested platitudes which have been used and reused ad nauseam.

When Mitt is challenged with a tough question, invariably he will provide a safe and pedestrian answer.

We don’t want McMitt!

What has he said or done that causes you to say he’s a lib? I’ve read his columns and listened to him and he sure seems like a conservative to me.
