Jimmy Carter gave us a radicalized islamic Iran.

Obamah, in a year, will have given the world a radicalized islamic Egypt, Libya, Syria and with all troops removed from Iraq, it too will fall victim to islamic radicalization.

That's some foreign policy you have there Bari.

And so it begins. Last US Paratrooper boot lands back in Ft. Bragg less than 24 hours ago.

What was the refrain back in the 60s? Give Peace a Chance? Iraq will soon erupt in wave after wave of sectarian violence.

Years ago I took the trash out. Bottom of the bag ripped open and one T-Bone fell out. Unfortunately, I had two Dobermans. Never ever, drop One T-Bone in front of TWO Dobermans! This, in a nut-shell, is what will soon happen in Iraq. I of course hope I'm wrong....

George Orwell said, “The fastest way to end an war is to lose it.”

The leftists, despite their protests of love for people, don’t care about those left behind. I noticed no great upset with them over all those people left behind in Vietnam when we left - remember the long line of people in Saigon trying to get on helicopters?

To this day I am convinced one of the reasons Asians are a minority that leftists don’t care about, is because they are a reminder of a people the left abandoned - that and because, of course, they are capitalists and work hard.

Yes. But we had to try.

Next time, flatten all the infrastructure, split the country along ethnic/tribal lines, set them at each other's throats, and leave.

It is accomplishing exactly what the man who says he will 'stand with the muslims, should the political winds shift in a ugly direction' intended.

By the time the election comes around, the violence will be in full swing. The Pubbies can run videos of violence in the street, then remind everyone that the video is actually of Iran, back when Jimmy Carter was President. ‘Nuf said.

I do not agree that “Jimmy Carter gave us a radicalized Islamic Iran.”

He was instrumental in the removal of the Shah, crucial to the installation of the Ayatollah, then ineffectually tried to get our embassy staff back while making appeasing surrender noises.

What turn of phrase would you use?

I think that he did... and we offered a ride on one of our Military planes to khomeini... to fly him from Paris to iran. carter's putrid gutting of our military... his perceived weakness amongst all nations... his gutless approach to foreign policy... his marxist economic agenda... his progressive spending... his constantly talking down America and saying our best times were over... that we needed to learn how to live like they do in Europe... his telling us to turn thermostats down to 68 and put on layered clothing... to stop vacationing and driving as much as we do... and his refusal to lift a finger early on to help a close ally retain power. ALL of these things led to what happened in iran.

Yeah... the Shah was a dictator... well persians and arabs need a dictator... a Strong Man that all fear... it keeps the tribes from eating one another. One can see how peanut head nurtured the birth of modern radical islam. Refusing to attack iran with all of our assets when they seized our Embassy and people for 1/3 of his Administration. The signs were all over that a violent revolution was brewing before the return of the mullachracy... and yet carter did nothing to close our Embassy or fortify it with what it needed to make an attack too painful to succeed. He did nothing to help the Shah crush this rebellion. In fact... he did everything to encourage the mullahs to start their jihad to caliphate. obama is even worse... all of these things that I post about carter doing... are being implemented by obama as well.

I lived through those times and they seem like yesterday... America was weak and demoralized... our Military incapable under carter of mounting a successful rescue mission... Dead Heroes sent out without what they needed... all due to carter mandates... but the Israelis shown the world at Entebbe that it is possible to carry out an action like this successfully.

carter is the father of radical islam... Reagan pulled us back from the brink... we need a Reagan today... we do not have the good fortune to have another Reagan to lead us once again into the light. Now we are going to see all of the blood and treasure invested in iraq fall to a nation that we have been at war with since 1979.

Darn, I hate always being right when it comes to defining POTUS Obama as a total failure. But....I really thought it would take about six months for Iraq to unwind into chaos and revolution. Iran is on the march, and.....will have Iraq for breakfast, rather then lunch.with many thanks going to POTUS Barack Hussein (The Muslim Brotherhood) Obama, the destroyer of the American republic.

Hate to say I told you so....but the honest truth is the real truth!!! And.....kiss the entire Middle East and North Africa goodbye, starting with the Obama giveaways of Egypt and Libya!!! I have absolutely come around to your way of thinking as well after these prolonged wars, which have now devolved into protecting one bloodthirsty group of savage moslems from another.

Time to get out of the middle of them and let them go at each other and do us all a favor. If they get distracted and try to hit us as well, we hit them back HARD in response - just as we initially did in Afghanistan - then get out. Time to stop bleeding to death slowly over in their 10th century hell holes, trying to nation build with barbarians who are not collectively capable of building anything.

Despite the potential talents of a relative handful of individuals that have risen out of the repressive stink of moslem culture, a majority willing to do what it takes to maintain a democratic, civilized society is NOT going to emerge in any of these places we've been entrenched in.

I do not agree that “Jimmy Carter gave us a radicalized Islamic Iran.”

Carter sure didn't do anything to prevent it, and in fact, everything he did do, only spurred on the radical Islamist takeover of that country.

Many of us here remember Jimmy Carter's disastrous blunders with Iran, all too well. It was one of the reasons he lost so badly to Reagan in 1980.

How has it all NOT been a waste? Our brave people died to give the Iraqi's a free and modern nation and they've squandered it. Iraq will be a battle zone again in a month. Iran will take over with the puppet Maliki. It's all been a waste!

The same is true in Afghanistan. Obmama and Biden are just dying to make nice with the taliban. They'll turn the country over to those blood thirsty pigs and they'll turn the place into a blood bath.

It's a question of "pick your poison". When the inevitable civil war comes, if the Sunnis win it will be Al Qaeda in charge. If the Shiites prevail, then we'll have a radicalized Iraq strongly allied with Iran. Either way, very bad news for the region and for the world. An even darker scenario would have Iran launching an invasion in support of their Shiite brethren. What would the U.S. do then?

I missed the ‘76 vote by three months. I had a good full time job by mid-’78 and moved out for the first time with some friends by the end of that year. I had little understanding of why people were upset with Carter but for their complaining about interest rates (”...Don’t you know the prime rate’s going up, up, UUUUP..!”), the energy crisis, the first CAFE standards controversy, the Iranian “Death to America”/hostage situation/rescue mission debacle and the 1980 Olympics boycott. I complained right along with them but only from a surface perspective. Walter Cronkite was a grandfather figure. Other than that...

For me, the genie was out of the bottle by the time Clinton’s impeachment had ramped up...then it was Bush vs Gore and Y2K, 9/11, war in Iraq, elections ‘02-’10, Obama, the Tea Party, etc.

Looking back on it, I guess I didn’t know that I didn’t know as much as I could’ve but since the genie IS out of the bottle, there are always more dots to connect between then and now.

That’s why I like this site and others like it, the EIB Network, FNC, my local conservative radio programs in Detroit (WJR/760am) and if only I knew then what I know now...

Screw that! It just feels good to know that when I see the footage and hear reports of the Occupy situations, I think of how glad I am that it isn’t me but it ain’t over until it’s over.

Nowadays, I think being anti-establishment is the ordure of the day and if knowledge is power then bring it on because I’m ready for “takin’ it to the street” if need be.

I was married to my high school sweetheart and living in my first apartment in '73, so I guess I had a five year head start on you. By the time Jimmy Carter was elected, I had a toddler at home, and was working a very good paying job. I had little time or interest for politics, but I well recall all of the high (or low) notes of Carter's presidency.

Most of my contemporaries suffered the ill effects of the rotten Carter economy in those years, but I was spared the pain, due to the excellent income I made during that time.

Even though I sort of flew above all that, I was nevertheless extremely disappointed in Carter. For the first time in my life, I had a president whom I could not respect, due to his weakness and inability to lead. He never seemed to be in charge, from my observation, but seemed to be buffeted and pushed to and fro by domestic and international events.

If I, as a busy twenty-something could see that, I'm sure that my more observant elders saw much worse. It's no wonder that he lost to Reagan in a landslide of historic proportions in 1980.

As for Carter being responsible for Iran's slide into a Mullahcracy, and the rise of Islamic radicalism, I don't think there's any question that his abject weakness was a green light that emboldened that violent movement.

When the Iranians released our hostages on the night that Reagan won the election, it boldly underscored that perception.
