Maybe 50/166 in our troop could even climb a rope. Very sad.

Gott in Himmel! We used to have that as standard physical exercise in gym class. Practically every guy, even the nerds, could get up that 25 ft. rope using their legs. All of the wrestling team, below heavyweight, did it without using their legs.

How times have changed..

Well, that’s not just climbing a rope. It’s climbing a rope after doing several other obstacles, and within the first half of OSUT. By the end of training the number was probably closer to half - 2/3s. Except we weren’t allowed to climb the ropes that were set up outside the bay because it was ‘too dangerous’, so I couldn’t say for sure how many actually could. Once we were allowed free PT time in the evening, we could either run on the track or the pull-up bars. That was it :/
