RNC chairman promises to make Fast and Furious a 2012 election theme
The Daily Caller ^ | 22 December, 2011 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 12/23/2011 7:37:06 AM PST by marktwain

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus reiterated his call for Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation on Wednesday, and promised Operation Fast and Furious will be an election issue in 2012.

“Holder may want to point fingers and play the blame game, but as the Attorney General, he bears the responsibility,” Priebus told The Daily Caller. “It’s past time for the attorney general to come clean and take responsibility and if he doesn’t, he has a boss who should.”

“Obama’s leadership deficit in holding the members of his administration accountable demonstrates yet again that the president is taking Washington in the wrong direction and only making things worse,” said Preibus.

“If Obama won’t fire Holder, we will,” Priebus added. “We’ll fire the whole team in just 11 months.”

Priebus considers Obama’s continued support for Holder a sign of a consistent lack of competence in the administration. He said that although Holder is ultimately responsible for Fast and Furious, the president refuses to hold him accountable.

“Whether it’s Attorney General Holder under fire for Fast and Furious or Energy Secretary Chu for wasting taxpayer dollars, President Obama has a competence problem within his inner circle,” Priebus said. “Despite the facts showing otherwise, Eric Holder has repeatedly denied fault in a reckless scandal that ended with the death of a border patrol agent and 1,400 guns lost in Mexico and the United States.”

Priebus also promised to make Fast and Furious a prominent theme during the 2012 election.

The president is ultimately responsible.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus....

No one is going to take a guy named Reince seriously.

I have no clue who he is and I can't pronounce his name.

Sarah Palin should be RNC Chairman. I can pronounce her name.

All I can say about a guy named Reince Priebus is that he must have gone to private school because with a name like that he would never have survived public school.

Why does everything have to be an ‘election theme’. Do something about it NOW, and use your success as an ‘election theme’.

All we get out of both parties is ‘election themes’...how about running on your success for a change instead of hollow promises about what you might do in the future if you pick up a few more seats in the house/senate/whitehouse...

“The president is ultimately responsible.”

Yes, but Big Media refuses to hold him accountable for anything except other people’s successes, and Racist Eric Holder is not running for president.

What happens if, just supposing, the Racist AG is gone in the next couple of months? Won’t that derail the RNC campaign momentum for having made it all about Racist Holder?

Why not make the campaign about the fraud failure-in-chief?

The GOP controls the house. If they had the balls to do it, they could draw up articles of impeachment against Holder today. But they don't.

They don't want Holder gone, they want the "issue". They want to run against Holder and if he were forced out, then they'd lose their precious "election theme".

If I have to TRY to pronounce someone's name, then they need to go by a pronounceable nick name if they want to be remembered.

Apparently his real birth name is Reinhold. A good old AMERICAN name. But he goes by Reince.

Apparently his name in English means "Take a shower before getting on the bus."

If he want's my support, he'll go by Reinhold. Instead he chooses to go by some misspelled foreign name.

Reince is my former boss - leader of the team in Wisconsin that turned us from an awful blue state failure into a hot red state - a smart TEA Party man, not a wimp, not at all as you describe him. A real conservative and Christian, Pro-Life, Pro-Gun and capable at his job (unlike the previous RNC clown)- try looking him up and moving past your need to mock him for his name.

Who woke up Reince ? It's astonishing that insiders of this Party elected a guy to be the chairman with a name like that. This is no longer the party of the small business man, less intrusive government. Where has this kid been the last 6 months ?

It's no wonder that after a move like that, they move to support mittens.

Yes, and let’s not miss what he himself believes (since you cagily left it out): “he believes the RNC is “part of” the Tea Party movement; he believes it is the Republican Party’s mission to “save our country, to save our party and to take back the White House”; believes someone who is “pro-abortion, pro-stimulus, pro-AIG ... might not be a Republican” and believes that being pro-life is “paramount” to the Republican Party platform.”

This is really the first time I've seen his name in print since he was elected to chair the National RINO Committee.

Why he dropped "Reinhold" for "Reince" is lost on me. What the hell is wrong with Reinhold Preibus? Is he ashamed of his Wisconsin/German heritiage? He has to go ALL Greek on us?

I bet he started using "Reince" when he was interning for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

Can't have any identification with your Aryan heritage when you work for the NAACP, can you?

This issue is a NAIL ON THE HEAD example of what is wrong with the GOP from the top down. For all his faults, at least Michael Steele was someone most people could relate to.

It always amazes me what bubbles to the top in political appointments and it usually ain’t the cream.

AND sadly, it’s rampant in BOTH parties - they both fill responsible, powerful positions with people who are:
> idiots (DNC chairmen Dean & Wasserman-...)
> inexperienced “Brownie ya’ve done a great job running the FEMA response...”)
> criminals (Tim Geithner, et al)
> mentally immature idealists (the ENTIRE Obee Cabinet).

SO, SO sad .......

The Dem talking point on this is “Why are the Republicans making a big deal out of this since Fast and Furious started under the Bush administration?” However I read in a recent post that one gun was lost and the program was stopped immediately, then restarted under Holder and company.

He did a pretty bang up job for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund when he worked for them. I suspect that is when he stopped using Reinhold as his name and tried to hide his mother's German ancestry.

Wow. From the thread trolls unable to read the first line of the article - to you pinheads grasping at any reason to trash a Tea Party conservative - one who engineered one of the biggest upsets the Dems have ever suffered at any time anywhere as a matter of fact - leading directly to one of the most talked about political takeovers in the nation, with the election of Governor Walker who gave the State worker unions a long deserved beat down - Because of his name? That and the fact in studying law he interned with the NAACP as a young man? Tea Party in Wisconsin gave the nation something to witness and actual results and much of it due to Reince’s work. You cannot twist that fact into your comfortable little fiction.
