I don’t know, but he said he’d fire all of Obama’s czars the first morning. And wipe out 40% of his Marxist government before Obama’s plane touches down in Chicago. And do all he can immediately to defund and defang ObamaCare until it’s completely repealed by the congress. And he wants to repeal Dodd-Frank. Repeal Sarbanes-Oxley. Rein in the Fed. Rein in the judiciary. Privatize social security and medicare. And he wants to fire EVERYONE at the EPA!

“Newt’s putting out specific executive actions the others haven’t”

I agree, Newt has been out front and leading on many issues including this one and the recent tax deal. He is not leading from behind like some others. GO NEWT!

The problem is local control? Excuse me? And you claim to be a conservative?

Yes, local control can get messy. But such is the history of our Republic set up for the express purpose of local control.

Well said.

Newt doesn’t just have baggage.... he has JUNK IN THE TRUNK.

I don’t trust Newt, but he’s infinitely better than the fraud, traitor and enemy of the People in the White Hut now.

Fortunately, Big Media works VERY hard to keep Republicans honest, unlike how they just fawn, fawn, fawn for Democrats.

Shhh - don’t tell anyone - but Sarbanes Oxley (and mark to market accounting) is the single biggest issue with the entire economic meltdown. And Dodd Frank will cause the next one. But again, don’t tell anyone......

You aren't the least bit suspicious about Gingrich conveniently coming out with these policy reversals. Recently, Gingrich bashed Boehner for standing up to the Dems. Then, when he realized it was unpopular with Republican voters he reversed himself. However, he had a private meeting with Boehner, and next thing you know Boehner gave Obama everything he wants.

The establishment GOP is trying to triangulate Romney or Gingrich on us. Allowing this manipulation is a big mistake.

Have you read Gingrich's ADMITTED "bible," Third Wave" by Alvin Toffler? Gingrich's goal is to abolish the Constitution and eliminate Christianity?

Please, Free Republic needs to be fighting the Gingrich/Romney axis!

But, nice try.

Not "trying" anything, just asking a hypothetical question of another GOP contender with inconsistent statements and/or past policies on illegal immigration.

Actually, you were trying to falsely apply one hypothetical idea to an actual policy definitive.

Typical of many anti-Newts - the inability to properly weigh hypothetical ramblings (many of which are not so great) to actual accomplishments or actual definitive promises.

Thank you for catching the irony. On a post about letting states have some control over illegal immigration, a “conservative” is arguing that only the Feds should control it - same as Obama’s DOJ and Obama’s appointed judge!

That just goes to show the lengths some folks will go to try and nuke Newt on any issue and any comment. They end up tying themselves in ideological knots all too often.

This poor guy sure did.

Yeah, you caught him. Newt’s agenda is to destroy the Constitution and Christianity. Damn. And to think, without your searing insight, he might have gotten away with it.

I’m suspicious of all politicians. Despise most of them. Absolutely loathe Romney who is Obama-lite. Loved Palin, but she’s not running. Liked Cain, but he’s out. Liked Bachmann but she can’t get it out of the starting blocks. Am ok with Perry, but he shot himself in the foot and then got hoof in mouth disease. Huntsman? Who? Absolutely no way on isolationist Paul or that other drug pusher guy.

And I absolutely want to defeat Obama. That leaves Gingrich as my man.

Besides, he’s a pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-country, small government, big defense, pro-states rights, tax cutting, deficit cutting, budget balancing, regulation cutting, oil-drilling, free-economy boosting Reaganite and his BIBLE is the same as mine: the KJV Christian Bible.

Who you gonna call?

Wut?

Typical of many anti-Newts...

Actually pro-Newt when he makes statements such as this, but anti-Newt when he's previously said long-term illegal aliens should be granted some form of amnesty.

Care to entertain the thread by guessing who you think my preferred candidate is?

That’s getting pretty damn close to an endorsement, Jim.

That is your right. I don’t believe a thing Mitt Romney has to say. But their records of actual accomplishments speak volumes.

OK, that is a huge development. This is the type of thing I want a president to do. This looks promising.

Will be a lot closer after Florida. I expect some of the five percenters to drop out after the early primaries. When it boils down to Newt vs Romney, then it’s a no brainer.
