I totally agree. They are the personification of the Rockefeller wing. And from the moment GHWB got in...he got rid of every Reaganite. And when GWB got in he and Rove systematically attacked and undermined all real conservatives in the states and for congress...an ideological war that the msm and rinos were complicit with.

“Captain Benny Williams, who Led the charge was awarded the Silver Star for his role.”

A Silver Star for essentially driving a plow and burying people alive? Wow. They have certainly cheaponed the Silver Star.

You may be one of the few who remember our "airlift" to the Kurds, after the war, when they rose up against the Saddam forces, believing we would support them. We left them hanging in the wind to be slaughtered and dying.

Finally Bush relented enough to send over C-130's and drop pallets of food and water on isolated Kurd settlements. I vividly recall seeing tape of these skids crashing to the ground, landing on people's houses, and people, for that matter. It was a freaking disaster of an operation, and an international embarrassment.

This was the time when they began the "no fly zones" incidentally, which later turned out to mean little enough

No, Bush cobbled together a coalition of collective security forces, in the vacuum of the recently collapsed USSR when we stood unchallenged in the world, and that was the easy part. The aftermath was a mess and Bush was nothing to be proud of.

Wrong sect. It was the Shi'ites who were encouraged to rebel, then abandoned.

It was Poppy Bush who encouraged Iraqi dissident factions to "take matters into their own hands" and to rise up against Saddam, he didn't point at the Shi'ites and say "only you guys, not the Kurds". By failing to overthrow Saddam in '91, massive numbers of Kurds were killed or forced to flee into Turkey. No matter how you slice it, Bush I allowed Saddam to escape with most of his infamous 'Republican Guard' intact and the years following were a demonstration of what happens when dictators are let off the hook and allowed to rebuild.

Contrary to popular belief, there is nothing in any of the various Hague and Geneva Conventions that requires an offer of surrender to be accepted. It is usually US policy to do so, but that policy can be suspended.

You have precisely summed up that entire debacle regarding the Kurds and how Poppy Bush screwed the pooch.

Nothing more humane than making someone slowly suffocate to death.

It's WAR dummy. Perhaps you and Ron Paul would have been happier if it were U.S. troops slowly suffocating to death?

No doubt. This guy is not even worthy of shining Audie Murphy's shoes.

The aftermath was a mess and Bush was nothing to be proud of.

The aftermath for them was a mess. We did fine out of it. Apart from wear-and-tear on equipment and troop casualties, we broke even financially on Desert Storm, thanks to hard-nosed negotiations conducted by Jim Baker over allied financial contributions. Iraqi Freedom has cost us $1T and counting. It has also cost the GOP some serious political capital. While the Iraqi Freedom was cheap in relation to previous wars as a % of GDP and in terms of troop casualties, it was no Desert Storm.

The Elite Republican plan of action for Ron Paul

Convince everyone Ron Paul is a crazy, racist, senile old man. All his supporters are dirty hippies that are all on drugs and are anti-Semite wackos.

Get the word out that voters in Iowa should vote for anyone they want, EXCEPT FOR Ron Paul. If they vote for him, the state will be a disgrace and the rest of America will hate Iowa forever.

If he wins, it will not even matter! The Republican leaders will ignore him and his crazy anti-American supporters and focus on the second and third place candidates.

Make sure that all media reporting includes the following: "There is no way Ron Paul will be the nominee. Remember you will be informed at the proper time who to support. (Remember McCain was broke around the NH primary and that didn't matter, it was his turn. You all did well supporting the Maverick.)

Drugs, never once forget Drugs, Ron Paul wants your children to use them! He want to flood the streets with released addicts and pushers along with TONS of cocaine. He really does love Heroin.

Remember, Your vote will only matter when you vote for who we choose, we know what is best for you! Relax, the Republicans have it all under control!

"Ron Paul is such scum."

Bet it's you instead. You sound like the bottom of the barrel. If everyone on the field marching were in step but you you'd be the only one that was right huh?

If any Iraqi troops were still in the trenches and bunkers, than they weren’t trying to surrender either. They were active enemy soldiers.
