Trying to avoid news today as it’s all bad.

But Christmas is good.

Merry Christmas, all.

I’m lying down for a pre-festivities nap.

Merry Christmas All!

Thank you for your constancy, AB.
Just looking at the list of guests every week is so informative. CNN always seems to have an interesting “outlier.” Today it is Condoleezza Rice.

FNS Panel with election predicitions:

1. Republican sweep, Myth
2. Status quo with RAT seat gain in Senate
3. Republican Congress takeover, Obama
4. Didn’t know, but whoever wins POTUS has electoral college win but not the so-called “popular vote”

Merry Christmas to all!!!

As much as I would like to hang Keystone around Obama's neck like an albatross, I fear we will be snookered once again. There are already articles out about how Obama can finesse this.

Obama has options to delay Keystone pipeline --Dan Pfeiffer, a White House communications director, tweeted before the Senate passed its version of the payroll tax bill last week: "How will (Republicans) explain to their members that the bill doesn't force the President to approve Keystone, it essentially kills it?"

Daniel Weiss, of the Center for American Progress, said last week that even if Obama approves the line, it would not survive the court process, as U.S. law clearly states that environmental impact statements have to be fully completed before the government can determine whether a project is in the national interest.

“building this pipeline has the potential to undermine America’s clean energy future and international leadership on climate change.”

Social Justice has destroyed the churches. They forget the reason for their calling and that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is truly our celebration of Salvation.

Merry Christmas

Correct. Late to the party, but Friedman, Brokaw both admitted in their wisdoms that things can't continue on this same course. They slip it in as if they've known it for a long time, that it's common knowledge, now, when in effect they're trying to hide their recent conversions.

Also noted that Mark Morial thinks voter ID laws are unfair. And Kathleen Parker has it half right, nothing we need spending cuts coupled with tax increases.

I am convinced the Democrats are purposely underfunding Social Security so the people, voters, will demand congress raise taxes on the rich to make up the underfunding. Why else would Democrats oppose the Bush tax cuts and cut funding for SS? They want to use this as an election year issue.

Keystone is on hold because Democrats don’t want to upset their environmental whacko base. Keystone is no different from drilling in ANWAR. The left wants to destroy energy policy or being independent. This is also why they are over regulating the coal industry today. Energy is a major issue we need to use daily in combating the Democrats.

Environmentalists, pro-abortionists, race-baiters, race-whores and all Democrats have obsessive-compulsive personality disorders. They can’t help themselves but we don’t have to let them play their games.

Santa left me a new i5 12gb RAM desktop pc with a 24" monitor a couple of weeks ago. I am still trying to get used to Win7. The most irritating thing was the file Explorer, but I found a replacement and a tweaker that took care of that irritant.

Merry Christmas

Keystone certainly is the bigger issue. Leadership bungled it no doubt, but it was a confusing issue because the so-called tax cut does nothing but do further damage to our own SocSecurity "lock box." There are/were conflicting issues/benefits to the 2 month tax break. Not so with Keystone. Let's bury them with it. ...and all the bungling will be forgotten.

Absolutely correct on SS! We know that 10,000 boomers per day are becoming eligible for SS.

"Rep. Eric Cantor says 10,000 baby boomers a day are becoming eligible for benefits"

Those are monster number just waiting to be worked into our already beleaguered budget deficit in SS.

For the dear leader to propose cutting the revenue for SS by over 30% is insane. For us to agree is delusional, inept, incompetent and crazy.

underfunding Social Security

So gifts between husband and I are opened. Daughter does not arrive until 2pm. Got granddaughter a bunch of games so we'll likely be playing a lot tonight. They are spending night, leaving grandkiddle with me a couple of days.

About your assertion as to intentional underfunding of SS....could be. Whatever the case, it's the darn dumbest thing ever done by these politicos and the repercussions will go on forever.

This was a way for Obamer to give some bucks to those who pay NO taxes whatsoever. I've worked in payroll all my life and this tax cut was aimed at those who have NO taxes witthheld from their paychecks and all they have was their SS deduct so they tapped that.

If nothing else shows how totally inept the Repubs are, it is this whole matter.

I really don't want to beat on the Repubs all the time; they're, mostly, my guys! But they've got to play the PR game better and the most frustrating thing is ALL THE REPUBLICANS HAVE GOT TO DO IS TELL THE DARN TRUTH!

It ain't like they have to lie or anything is what I'm saying here.

Take that two month versus full year thing... Way I figger, the plan was to extend that thing for two months, and after that two months expired, they would THEN extend it for a year.

What does this accomplish? It takes it off the table as an election issue come November 2012. At which time the pubs might have a candidate who can actually articulate the facts.

and the facts are that this SS deduct is NOT a tax, it is an individual contribution to the SS fund for that individual's future retirement. The facts are that even at this time the SS system is in trouble, as well as Medicare, and come the future, how bad will it then be without these CONTRIBUTIONS?

The facts are that IF this money goes into a trust fund, as erroneously asserted, will this money be replaced in that trust fund....and the facts are that there is no trust fund...yes tell this part too.

The facts are that the financing of this thing by increasing the fees on mortgages by Freddie and Frannie is a bad move because haven't Frannie and Freddie ruined the mortgage/homebuyer system enough? And for the few folks able to buy a house nowadays, why burden THEM with the additional fees, spread over 30 years mind you, to further suppress the housing market?

The facts are that while folks in lower incomes should not have their taxes raised, certainly, they sure should have to contribute to money that they will someday collect as the SS tax was planned.

The facts are that with this reduction in SS income, it is our seniors today who are de facto financing this reduction in SS withholdings.

The fact is that no matter the numbers thrown about, based on an average annual income of around $45K per year, and that's being generous, but this annual savings equals about $900 a year, or a little over $17 a week.

The fact is that it's a sad day indeed when our elected politicians practically bankrupt an already ailing system to give their voters an extra $17 a week, it's a sad statement on the condition of our economy indeed.

The fact is that to burden businesses, who only want to make widgets, with the tricky matter of undertaking expensive adjustments of their payroll systems to handle this very tricky matter of deducting this amount now with this cap, then THAT amount later with that cap, is another way the gubmint sucks the life out of a vibrant capitalistic economy and all for seventeen damn bucks a week.

So there you have....the FACTS, as stated by Pat Fish....NOT a Republican candidate but I know the facts, yes I do. So why can't the pubs say this stuff?

Hey, I'll even write it for them! Send me a Freepmail and sign me up. Cause I know the facts!

Finally, to stop boring yon reader, if nothing else this is the best case we can make for Newt, with all his warts and baggage. THE MAN CAN MAKE THE CASE.

For this election, I'd suggest, let's put a pub in there what can talk and make the case as the American public needs to hear it. I assert that if only a pub, say John Boehner for example, had made the case as I made above on a Christmas morning and out of the top of my head, that it would have made a difference.

It's my story and I'm sticking to it.

House Members say proposed tar sands pipeline will undermine clean energy future http://switchboard.nrdc.org/blogs/sclefkowitz/house_members_say_proposed_tar_1.html (June 23, 2010) Today, 50 Members of Congress raised their voices against the unnecessary risks of tar sands oil expansion into the United States. Led by Jay Inslee (D-WA), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), the list also includes Committee Chairs George Miller (Education and Labor), Barney Frank (Financial Services), Zoe Lofgren (Standards of Official Conduct), Bob Filner (Veterans’ Affairs), and Carolyn Maloney (Joint Economic Committee). The Members are speaking out against the proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline that would bring this oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. In a letter to Secretary Clinton, the Members warned that “building this pipeline has the potential to undermine America’s clean energy future and international leadership on climate change.” Read letter here: June 23 House Letter FINAL.pdf http://switchboard.nrdc.org/blogs/sclefkowitz/June%2023%20House%20Letter%20FINAL.pdf

Hardcore Socialism at work.

All this says is that terrorism, energy security and the ability of the country to become self sufficient in energy without using oil from vendors who hate us is unimportant. This letter is also predicated on nothing more than possible environmental problems somewhere else!!

This is a true measure of modern day traitors and all these Marxists signing on to this letter should be exposed, voted out and laughed at by the entire country.

even more traitorous is that these same signees already know that time is of the essence and that the tar sands project will happen with or without the US. The dem traitors also know that the Chicoms are chomping at the bit, ready, wiling, and able to finance the project themselves, have it built in Canada and terminate at Vancouver, then send the oil to China!!

So our Marxist leaders in the Commiecrat party are saying that oil from a friendly country/ally to our north,Canada, should be given to a communist menace instead of us. Will someone please expose these idiots and soon.!!!
