Philip: Just let me go home! Duke in fighting form after heart scare
Daily Mail ^ | 12-25-11

It would take more than mere heart surgery to shake the indomitable spirit of Prince Philip. Hours after his life-saving operation, he was demanding to be released from hospital. ‘I feel fine’, the irascible 90-year-old told doctors who had carried out an emergency operation to treat a blocked coronary artery. ‘I don’t want to make a fuss. I just want to go home.’

An insider at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire said: ‘He is itching to get out.’ However, it was confirmed that he would remain there for at least another night. The Queen, who flew the 60 miles by helicopter from Sandringham on Christmas Eve to be with her husband of 64 years, remained at the Norfolk estate with the rest of her family. At her request, their thoughts were with Philip but their eyes were on Kate prayers were said for the duke during a community service at St Mary Magdalene Church yesterday morning. It was the second visit to St Mary’s that the 85-year-old Queen had made that morning. For the first, she was driven as usual to the church, accompanied by her daughter-in-law the Countess of Wessex, while the rest of her family, headed by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, went on foot. The presence of the Duchess of Cambridge, spending her first Christmas as a member of the Royal Family, helped to attract a record 3,000 well-wishers. The Queen wore a lavender wool boucle coat by Karl Ludwig, upon which she had pinned a diamond shell brooch with a pearl at the centre, with a matching white and ivory hat by Angela Kelly. She accepted dozens of bouquets helped by three of her grandchildren, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and the Wessexes’ daughter Lady Louise Windsor.

There aren’t any (Phto of the Dutchess of Cornwall). Well, not closeup, full face.

Almost ALL of the pics are of Kate, and she is the center of attention in even large, group shots. Not only is she beautiful, her delegant burgandy ensemble draws attention too.

Well, I lied, but she certainly isn't the center of attention.

Randy Andy is aging.

That IS a stunning suit but I just think Kate needs a little more pin cushion. And that’s *with* the camera adding ten pounds, or 7/10th stone, or whatever.

Its common practice to keep one 48 hours in CCU. If all goes well, one is moved to the common ward for another 24 hours. By then one should be able to go home. I would have been discharged Wednesday afternoon but it was delayed on account of a snowstorm. I was moved out of CCU Tuesday afternoon after doing pretty good.

In the end, when to go home is always the doctor’s call. A stent procedure isn’t a big deal. I suspect he’ll have to take prasugrel for four months and then one aspirin tablet a day after prasugrel ends for the rest of his life.

I think the Duke has pointed out that they actually live in an apartment above their workplace.
