Lets face it. Many Republicans, Independents, Democrats, no party, etc., had for years been sucked into the AGW/GW phenomena without having a clue as to what represented good science verse contrived for a political/economic purpose.

The really disgusting thing is all the Pubbies who signed on over the last twenty years rather than take the time to study the issue and find the cojones to take a strong stand against it.

No, no, it's always "split the difference", "half-a-loaf", "meet 'em halfway" politics as usual. Always trying to mollify the liberals by tossing them bones.

Never forget, it was GWB who signed off on the lightbulb ban. And just about every GOP frontrunner has been recorded making obeisance to climate change at some point.

Last I read the Federales are blowing 2 billion a year on climate studies..... In my book the scientists they fund are known quantities and will come up with pro-global warming results 99% of the time. This is known in advance (wink wink) before they get the loot. Otherwise they do not get it

December strawberries and pansies, grown outdoors, in South Dakota!

How unusual is the year? Quite warm, and rather dry, here in sunny South Dakota: a brown Christmas, and temps running in the mid to high 40s (though we have had hard freezes with days that didn't get above freezing this Fall) at least through this coming Friday.

OTOH, as unusual as this year has been, it wasn't as warm as winter appears to have been 90 years ago, as evidenced by the highlighted portion of the History column in last week's local newspaper.

“When 2010 ended, it seemed as if people had lived through a startling year of weather extremes. But in the United States, if not elsewhere, 2011 has surpassed that.”

so, 2011 was more extreme than 2010, ..... so this means out of 1 of 2 years, 2011 was more extreme .... waste of a sentence .... saying something to express nothing.

Down right dishonest, reminds me of a street corner con artist.

Post #26: Perhaps someone could shove the article from the Hot Springs Star in front of the faces of some of these clowns. It is nice to see this scam slowly becoming known for what it really is.

At the end of one of the most bizarre weather years in American history, climate research stands at a crossroads.

I can't even see a true correlation between the temperature of the Equatorial Counter-Current and rainfall amounts. Here we are in the midst of a "La Nina" year, and it's the driest December I have ever seen. I don't know how anybody can even pretend to claim an inference from the weather in any particular year.

It never seems to leave the 40’s around here (southern WI), but later this week we’re finally in for some teens weather.

No snow. Just a dusting so far. I’ve gotten an amazing amount of work done on my farm this fall which would’ve otherwise had to wait until spring. We’re still cutting trees! Trees that we couldn’t have gotten to had it snowed even a little so far!

Selling Christmas Trees at work this season was a breeze! We had NO snow to contend with and customers came out in droves and bought more decor than normal, as it was EASY to decorate our homes for a change without the snow and the warmer weather.

I dunno. I don’t mind having more Opossums in the yard due to Global Warming...though I know this season is just a fluke and we will pay for it DEARLY between now and spring.

Look for news stories about us having ‘The Worst Winter In History’ before it’s all said and done. *Rolleyes*
