4 Women Surrender in Hawaii Toys "R" Us Store Theft

Four unemployed, single mothers surrendered to police after they were seen on surveillance footage taking items from a Hawaii toy store before Christmas, Honolulu police said Wednesday.

The women, ages 22, 25, 26 and 30, were arrested Tuesday at the Kaneohe police station, near the Windward Mall Toys R Us where police say there were among a group seen hauling away about $1,000 worth of merchandise on Dec. 1. They were arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft, booked and later released pending further investigation, said Caroline Sluyter, a police spokeswoman.

Several of the women contacted attorney Myles Breiner last week after police released the footage and asked the public for help finding them. The remorseful women took the toys as gifts for their children, he said, and that he made arrangements for police to take the 24 items, most of which were taken to his office gift-wrapped, to be returned to the store's manager.

The little time I spent on the Island it was obvious property rights mean little to significant portion of the people. If you are a resident you get a card and pay less than the retail price. $7.00/gal milk is for tourists. Also don’t exceed the 25 mph speed limit by even one mph. Other than that it is paradise.

Hmmmmm, a dim childhood memory is coming back up on me.

Does anyone remember that original Hawai’i Five-O episode where three desperate moms become stickup artists, holding up tour buses and robbing the passengers?

As I recall, one of them goes psycho after a few heists and nearly kills a few people and the others drop dime on her.

One local chain does have a discount card, but you can sign up for it if not a resident AFAIK.

Also, Safeway here honors the same discount card mainlanders often already have. Type in your phone number if you left it behind. A women in line with me at Safeway gave the checker her card and saved Terry Bradshaw (yes, that Terry B) $78 last summer. I rarely pay more than $4/gal for milk. Oahu sucks in many ways, predatory cops are just one.

I find the story interesting for the fact that similar to the Lefty media in the CONUS the propagandists/sanitizers for some strange, unknown reason forgot to include the names of the perps which would indicate if they are native islanders, Asians, or Whitey McCrackerhonkey similar to what happens when diversity goes on the rampage here.

When I first saw it, my assumption was Michelle, her 2 daughters and her mother were busted.

No sweeter words could be spoken than :"Book-um, Danno".

Milk $7 a gallon, wow!

Are there dairy farms in Hawaii? How cost efficient are they? How much does the land cost? Where does the feed come from and how much does it cost?

If I was buying milk out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean I would expect it to cost more than it does in Wisconsin.

Well, when one considers the fact that I was born and raised in Hawaii, I must say that your post is complete bovine scat.

I don’t remember ANY episode in detail although I watched that show all the time. All I remember is “book him Dano”.

But we have been enjoying the new Hawaii 5-0 and I really like how they kept the theme song and made the opening credits so similar to the original ones. It brings back such fond memories of watching that show with my grandma, it was one of her faves. I just love them for making that choice, it makes me happy every time I watch it.

I only remember about 3 episodes.

Danno was shot and held by a war vet having a really bad flashback. He thought that he was protecting Dan from the enemy but he was really keeping the police and paramedics away.

One of our local news anchors played a killer in an episode that featured a “murder in a locked room” mystery.

I have a vague memory of a mute boy (who was feral, I think) who witnessed a crime.
