Voter ID: Holder Looks Through Race-Colored Glasses

Suffrage: Fresh from using his race as a defense in the Fast and Furious scandal, the attorney general blocks South Carolina's voter photo ID law as discriminatory. Tell that to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Palmetto State can't seem to catch a break from this administration. First, the right-to-work state gets harassed by the National Labor Relations Board over Boeing's expansion into a new plant.

Now the Justice Department has blocked a voter ID law passed in May and signed by Gov. Nikki Haley.

Both federal actions, along with a Justice Department investigation into Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, have the unstated goal of rallying to the president's re-election banner consisting of various components of the Democratic base — from unions to African-Americans to Hispanics, all of whom need to be protected from those racist, anti-immigrant and anti-union Republicans.

Once again playing the race card, the Justice Department, which under Section 5 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act gets to review any changes to the election laws of 16 states including South Carolina until the end of time, has judged, without any factual evidence, the Palmetto State's new law to be discriminatory.

In a letter Friday to Havird Jones, South Carolina assistant deputy attorney general, the Justice Department said the law, which requires a voter to present a South Carolina driver's license or other photo ID such as a passport, military ID or a voter registration card with a photo issued by South Carolina election officials, would "significantly" burden nonwhite voters.

If you’ve ever drank a beer, smoked a cigarette, bought a lottery ticket, received a SS card, given birth, or attended school in the US then you can show your ID to vote. NO EXCUSES from these people living off taxpayer monies. NO PHOTO ID: NO SERVICES and NO VOTE!

The FEDERAL government mandated in 2005 in the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act that ALL CITIZENS must present ID to purchase any over the counter medication containing psuedoephdrine.

How did they expect poor people to be able to show ID in order to get a decongestant??

Hmm... wasn’t racist in that instance to expect poor people to show ID to buy otc meds, yet it is racist to ask for ID for one of the greatest rights in our country, to vote??

I remember when anyone in Maine who got “help from the town” could not vote. If a person lived on public assistance, he could not vote. We need to have this law reinstated nation wide.

If you can’t pay, you can’t play. I can go for that. Like any well run household, if you pay the bills you get to make the rules. The kiddies can’t run amok.

The old segs told us this would happen, back in 1965. Now it's happening. But they always, always lied, didn't they? They were ..... unpeople ..... unlike homosexuals and atheists and honest pornographers.

If one of "those people" (locution still in use today) told you 2 + 2 = 4, then he was lying, and the answer was probably more like 3, or 5, or maybe 3.7 or something. But it couldn't be 4, because people like them can never, ever, be allowed to be right about anything.

It'll take concentration camps in Ohio to get anybody up there to change his mind. Fortunately, Bozo is just the guy to help make that happen.

Oh, and the original act is unconstitutional .... but that's okay, carry on.

What kind of ID do these ‘disenfranchised’ voters have to show to enroll their kids into a school???

Or does that lead us to the answers about why so many ‘kids living in poverty’ are so poorly educated?

These people have cell phones—cars—driver’s licenses—lots of ID.

NYC requires a laundry list of ID to prove that your kid is going to be enrolled within the correct school district.

Having ID to vote is a no-brainer.

Holder is a Commie Brastard.

Your right to vote on collective bargaining agreements is carefully “check” by the compulsory union prior to exercising that right. They first make very certain you are a ‘card-carrying’ member. Shows the hypocrisy of the left on this particular issue. As a college teacher but non-union employee I am barred from voting on the very contract governing my job. The union runs the HR dept.. They check and “know” exactly who is paying the union dues aka Democrat tithe - and who isn’t, prior to exercising the right to vote. So much for the ‘injustice’ of carding voting members of a collective.
