Blaze Exclusive: Donald Trump's Possible Third Party Run Gains Momentum
The Blaze ^ | December 29th | Mike Opelka

Posted on 12/30/2011 6:39:57 AM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

The potential for a third party presidential run from billionaire developer and reality TV star Donald Trump may be closer to becoming a reality show of its own.

The Blaze received a copy of a confidential email sent out late Thursday afternoon from a Florida Tea Party leader and personal friend of Trump. The email requested assistance in building a team in Texas to make certain that, if Trump chooses to run, his name would be on the ballot.

The email included:

I don't know how I feel about this. I think a third party would guarantee an Obama win, but should Romney get the nomination? I know for certain that Romney is a progressive(he said so himself) and I just cannot do that.

It would have to be Trump over Romney for me.

But I like how Santorum is rising in the polls. I want a real conservative and Santorum is just that.

Well a couple things wrong with your theory.

First, Trump is more progressive than Romney over all issues and certainly has supported more, well, flaming liberals over his career.

Second, you admit a Trump run would guarantee an Obama victory, yet you would support Trump who would say he is running because he is the only one who can beat Obama. There’s a disconnect there.

Third, Santorum is mostly rising in Iowa. The entire Iowa caucus voting block will be smaller than a typical congressional district.

The mentality of folks who’d consider ushering Obama into a 2nd term, by wasting their vote on some 3rd party loser, mystifies me.

The same Pero tantrum votes gave us Bill Clinton.

I know I have been sitting here testing all of the tea leaves, and I observe two huge reactions.

1) Anybody but Obama, and

2) Anybody but Romney.

I am starting to believe our electorate is ripe for someone who is neither Obama or Romney

If he runs, he has to know it may cause Obama to win by default.

Right. Trump for president? I would vote for Romney. If Trump actually won I would give up on this country and politics, cancel all my subscriptions and never vote again.

I think the 0bama folks know that he cannot win a two-way race.

0bama has never run for election in a straight-up, head to head, merit based race, and I don’t think he intends to in 2012.

DO you honestly think Romney will be any better than Obama? He will only serve to kill the republican party. At least with Obama there is opposition from the right. With Romney, the republicans will submit to Romney and the opposition will be from the left and he will compromise.

Trump lives on the buzz. He will show ankle, but never run.
The aim is to get publicity for the Trump brand and mollify his wounded ego over the debate brush off.

No it’s not.

If you say that Trump’s got a very progressive history, then fine. I might end up finding someone else. You can extrapolate all you want about whatever Trump may or may not have said, done, who he’s supported, and more, but he hasn’t done what Romney has. Romney has admitted to being a progressive. It’s on video. That’s it. Discussion over.

I don’t really like Trump at all. Who I want is Santorum. I’d vote for Gingrich. I’d even take Perry. But I will find someone to vote for and that person will absolutely not be Romney or Obama, and there’s a lot of conservatives who say that.

If Romney is the nominee I too will vote for him. Anyone is better than Obama. Obama is a leech - he has the mind-set of most entitlement junkies.

I will support whoever goes after Hussein for the fraud he is. The Republicans are complicit in the scam. If Trump attacks Barry’s ineligibility he has my vote. And so would Hillary, I think it’s that important.

Watch this video:

Now you are no longer mystified.

Trump runs Obama wins.

Romney nominated, Obama wins.

Those polls will be meaningless after the entire media, culture and DNC rip him apart for the weak candidate that he is.

No intensity on the GOP side with Romney...honestly, I could care less...

The GOP Establishment is sitting back marveling at their accomplishments right now, too ignorant to know they are giving the election to Obama.

It would have to be Trump over Romney for me.

Other than perhaps having a bigger ego and mouth, how is Trump better than Romney? Hate Romneycare? Trump supported single payer, Canadian style socialized medicine. Hate the fact that Romney is a political chameleon? Trump is that and more considering how much money he's poured into the pockets of liberal Democrats including $50,000 just last year to Obama's former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Trump also happens to be the biggest of buddies with Schumer and all the rest of the northeastern Democrat bigshots. His conversion to the Republican party last what? A year or so. Trump is no conservative and is probably more "progressive" overall than RINO Mitt.

Bad as Romney is, at least he is somewhat beholden to conservative voters. Trump is out for Trump - he is a liar and a political clown.

I was not arguing for Romney. I was arguing that Trump is even worse. I would suggest you not let your hatred for Romney cloud the reality that there are worse folks and that Trump is one of those.

But I’m for just about any of the others over either as you are.

—————I will support whoever goes after Hussein for the fraud he is.-—————

And that’s the problem right there too.

Romney fears Obama.

See the video.

I’m confident that Santorum would go after Obama though.
