Expert warns: EPA regulation could lead to blackouts in ’12
By JOSELYN KING - For The Times Leader
December 27, 2011

WHEELING - The leader of a think tank on energy policy sees electrical blackouts in America's future if the Environmental Protection Agency continues plans to phase out coal-fired electric plants.

Thomas Borelli, director of the Free Enterprise Project at the National Center for Public Policy Research, also believes there could be backlash in the 2012 elections if voters find themselves without electricity in the coming months.

New EPA rules were issued last week and will allow companies three years to comply. These will further limit mercury emissions under the Clean Air Act, set new limits on the emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides and establish new coal-ash disposal rules.

"Projecting in the future, if blackouts and brownouts happen, it will be a difficult election for senators and representatives," Borelli said. "Constituents might want to know why they didn't act to stop it.

"There could be a significant effect in the 2012 election if there are brownouts and blackouts, and questions of who failed to control the EPA," he continued. "There could be political consequences."

My January project is to finally create the basement den,it is always cool down there. I anticipate if not blackouts and brownouts, we simply won’t be able to afford the electricity.

"Projecting in the future, if blackouts and brownouts happen, it will be a difficult election for senators and representatives," Borelli said. "Constituents might want to know why they didn't act to stop it."

The answer to that is easy. While the rest of the electorate stumbles around in the dark, said "representatives" have all the energy they need.

“The Democrats are making total economic warfare against the American people.”

I wish more people understood this. Becoming dependent upon government is NOT freedom, it’s slavery.

And yet, so many American seem so willing to become wards of the state...

Yes. And if one wonders how they expect to support all the "converts" who crawl to the democratic bus hoping for the "free ride", one must remember the big O's wife talking about how Obama will make people leave their comfort zone and they will have to work. My guess would be forced labor to oil the machine's cogs with our worthless blood and sweat.

There were many prophetic statements made as he campaigned and then began our destruction - too many misunderstood the intent or ignored it as pure rhetoric.

They used access to water to farming districts in California as blackmail to get enough ObamaCare votes. What makes you think they won’t use access to electricity for something else?

This is a deliberate attack on the American people. We did not cause these generated crisis our elected officials did. We need to take away the keys to the store across the board and then we need to pressure our newly elected to investigate and prosecute them all

Is there not one Governor with the balls to dismiss these idiotic bureaucrats? If I were a Governor it would never occur to me to take the EPA seriously enough to let them dictate to and destroy my state.

You don’t have to be an Einstein to figure out what will happen if these plants close.

The fact is there will be blackouts and brownouts, and thousands of people will be put out of work, your electric bill will soar./.

Now let’s be smart enough to figure out the simplest fact of all
The people out of work?
The extra cost? the problems we face?

Obama doesn’t give a tinkers damn. He could care less.
He will get re-elected anyway and screw us some more, because the Media is owned by him, the blacks are on his plantation, the queers love him, and yellow dog Democrats are too friggin stupid top vote any other way.

I can see 2012 as a bigger year for Republicans than 1984. Could be a 50 State beat down unless the machine can generate enough votes to hold a few states like Illinois and Pennsylvannia. (Massachusetts went for Reagan in 1984, remember.)

The mention of ‘blackouts’ and ‘brownouts’ seems rather racist to me. Where is the Racist Kid when you need him? LOL!

.If the sheeple can't get the electricity to watch ABCNNBCBS they might have to start thinking for themselves. This will never be allowed. The Circus Maximus must continue for when it ends the SHTF.

Communism owns production and land via big government. Fascism controls production and land via big government. The communists and their sympathizers morphed into the environmental movement decades ago for the primary purpose of controlling land and subsequently raw materials (i.e. fossil fuels) and resources (i.e. water). See my tag-line.

Taken to its logical conclusion, the neo-fascists will do exactly what you pointed out, blackmail us to their will via government coercion.

They won't have quite enough "juice" if people are driven to hunting down EPA employees and their enablers in the streets.

They can run but they can't hide.

To the point of your post and tagline, see the 3rd quote on my FR profile page, the two-paragraph one by Hayek. It has been ever thus.

-——Is there not one Governor with the balls to dismiss these idiotic bureaucrats-——

Well yes there is

Governor Rick Perry pretty much told the EPA to just go away and leave Texas alone. He more or less declared his state exempt
