Iran ex-president's website 'shut down'

TEHRAN — A website belonging to Iran's former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who has criticised the current regime, has been shut down, his brother told the ISNA news agency on Friday.

"Yesterday (Thursday) evening, the company that provides the services made contact to tell us that they had been ordered to stop providing us the service," Mohammed Hashemi was quoted as saying.

"Fifteen minutes later, the site was no longer accessible," he added.

"We are going to see on Saturday who gave that order."

He explained that Iran's internet surveillance commission sent an email several days ago requesting that some of the content posted on the site be taken down, specifically speeches made by Rafsanjani during prayers.

FRESNO — A website used as a forum by extreme right wing elements to disrupt the lawful political process has been shut down, according to Secretary for Homeland Security Janet Incompetentano, when answering questions regarding the newly enacted SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act).

"Yesterday (Friday) evening, the Internet Service Provider that provides "FreeRepublic.Com" access to the internet was directed to severe all connections with their client and the website user logs have been seized pursuant to an investigation into the identities of Free Republic posters, many of which post comments inciting unrest using aliases hiding their real names."

"A proper and orderly political process cannot be permitted to be disrupted by a pack of racist, right wing extremists, misfits and malcontents", said newly sworn in Attorney General Malik Zulu Shabazz.

Rafsanjani’s corrupt ( they all are over there) but rational - doesn't want war because it interferes with "the good life". The split? Ahmadinejad's gone over the edge and will invoke a war against the West.

I had put her in that ‘class’ when she was filling her dance card with the likes of Maher and Torecelli - that plus when one is able to put out an ‘I am smarter than the average Bear’ book ‘once a month’ it gets to be a little much.
I also ‘lost respect’ for Fox News when they started hiring the likes of Jerry Rivers and IMNSHO thought maybe O North a bit ‘over the top’ in the other direction- but he did a good job from the ‘front’.
But the Fox ‘love affair’ with O’Reilly and Hannity, now I understand Colmes is back and oh yes, all those that ‘threw in’ with toe sucker Dick Morris- Guess B Frank will be their next ‘fair and balanced’ act.
The Washington Examiner (officially) threw in witt mitt about a week ago.
I can understand backing your candidate but todays politics doesn’t exploit your own values, it exploits your opponents foibles. - whether true or false - the ‘USA Today’ mindset of today is full swing - which allows the attacker to write a negative headline, make 1st couple of paragraphs a ‘scorched earth’ then MAYBE, just MAYBE bury some truth or FACTS deep in the story, where the majority never get to.

Regarding Faux News? I unsubcribed and instituted my own personal boycott of that RINO-network after they played a key role in the 2008 trashing of Congressman Duncan Hunter, who was a solid conservative in the Reagan tradition running for President, but the lamestream media AND Faux News wanted nothing to do with him, they did everything possible to diminish and minimize his presence, visibility and influence, and they were one of many factors why the Hunter campaign never truly caught fire. And I have my own personal suspicion about what triggered the ire of the media, it was when Duncan Hunter coined the phrase 'The Teddy Kennedy wing of the Republican Party', that was a slap in their liberal faces, and they retaliated for it. Hunter put the smackdown on them, and it left a mark.

As far as I'm concerned, Rupert Murdoch and Faux News can go screw themselves. I have no use for them. And I have even less use for the king of bloviators Bill O'Blabbermouth (who slurred and sneered his ignorant venom at FR a while back as well). Ignorant Bill can KMA.
