Hacker collective Anonymous has just dumped 200 GB of names, email addresses and passwords for around 860,000 Stratfor users. Anonymous also exposed credit card numbers for 75,000 paying customers of Stratfor.

Stratfor, a security think tank, provides reports on international security and related threats to government and military personnel as well as to the private sector.

It is unknown whether Anonymous gained access to other, more sensitive information during the Stratfor hacks, which occurred on December 24.

“The time for talk is over,” wrote Anonymous last night on Pastebin.

“It’s time to dump the full 75,000 names, addresses, CCs and md5 hashed passwords to every customer that has ever paid Stratfor. But that’s not all: we’re also dumping ~860,000 usernames, email addresses, and md5 hashed passwords for everyone who’s ever registered on Stratfor’s site… Did you notice 50,000 of these email addresses are .mil and .gov?”

Do you think it is just a funny coincidence that the Obama Administration is incapable of finding and identifying Anonymous?

While the evidence is circumstancial. I believe Anonymous is working closely with the Obama Administration.

860,000 sets of contact info plus 75,000 credit cards would not come anywhere close to 200GB, even uncompressed.

>> Thesis + antithesis = synthesis

thesis * (1 + anti) = syn * thesis

syn = 1 + anti

Let’s introduce matter:

matter * syn = matter * (1 + anti)

mattersyn = matter + antimatter

Who is John Mattersyn?

My info was exposed. I just canceled my CC. No activity but only a matter of time, I have a long day of changing all my auto pays on Tuesday. Crazy thing is I never leave my info at a site but figured these guys would be safe. Guess I was wrong.

Those codes are not supposed to be stored. Perhaps there are exceptions.

May this trigger the NSA and DOD to hunt every Anonymous member down and execute them.

You're talking a "starfish" organization here. It will prove nearly impossible to hunt them down.

Gosh golly, these slick HaXXorz got my STRATFOR password. Wow. Now they'll be able to post stuff to the site they apparently hate under my name. At least until I change it.

This one is actually sort of peculiar. STRATFOR is a private strategy analysis website, nothing more. So 50,000 people who subscribe to it work for the government. So what? I'm guessing this is a crime of opportunity, not of ideology. And a cheap crime it is. Precisely how they expect to overthrow The System by enriching the Russian Business Network and the Chinese fake credit card manufacturers is a little hazy to me. Logic is apparently not the strong suit here.

Normally I'd ask them to say hello to the Secret Service for me but given this administration's penchant for ignoring crime that tends to be in their political favor, I won't hold my breath.

It does make sense tho’, doesn’t it - twisted but sense nonetheless!
