In schools around the country, 2011 was marked by test cheating scandals
By Associated Press, Published: December 31

ATLANTA — It was the year of the test cheating scandal.

From Atlanta to Philadelphia and Washington to Los Angeles, officials have accused hundreds of educators of changing answers on tests or giving answers to students. Just last week, state investigators revealed that dozens of educators in 11 schools in Georgia’s Dougherty County either cheated or failed to prevent cheating on 2009 standardized tests.

At President Obama’s invitation, states have begun filing waivers to get relief from the law. Under the 11 waivers already filed, states are asking to use a variety of factors to determine whether they pass muster and to choose how schools will be punished if they don’t improve. Among the factors that could be used are college-entrance exam scores or the performance of students on Advanced Placement tests.

At least 39 states, plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, have said they will file waivers, though it is unclear how many will get approved.

I do a lot of volunteer work in schools and I’m continually amazed at how little kids today know.

I’ll be addressing an issue and a kid will ask, “Gee, where did you learn that?” When I respond, “In school,” they get a quizzical look on their faces.

But all the kids have excellent self esteem :)

Public “education” is an ongoing, unresolved scandal...with no resolution in sight. The real travesty is that tax payer funds are used to pay teachers anything given what they do to children.

Whether Obamao is involved or not, any reduction in federal mandates to states with regard to education is a GOOD thing. Neither Marxist unions NOR the federal government should have any business telling states how to run their schools - whether via NCLB or some other federal bureaucratic crap. Leave the states alone and abolish the federal level Dept. of Education.

This is NOT a bad thing, although I suspect if Obamao is involved at all it's purely from either a partisan perspective of wanting to roll back Bush era "reforms" (expansion of federal government) or much more likely it's to allow education unions to continue to eliminate all attempts (federal & state) to make their failed schools accountable for results - whether via way too many standardized tests or some other highly preferable alternative means.

The purpose in education in “publik schools” has always been to make slaves for the state (JS Mill). Education needs to always be in the hands of parents. Boards need to be made up of only parents-—no teacher unions—no “certified” “government” “trained” “teachers” (who learned all the BF Skinner behaviorist techniques to destroy “fixed belief systems” —read that Christian/Jewish Ethics.

Since Dewey, schools curricula is designed to destroy morality in children.
(B.K. Eakman, John Taylor Gatto). The McGuffey readers filled with Bible quotes were kicked out and Go Spot Go was inserted in its place.

BURN THE DA*N TEXTBOOKS designed by bill ayers/athieist/hedonist/pagan/man/boy “love” type people!!@!!!!!!!!!!!!@@##@

I am not kidding. Virtue was taught in all Classical literature-—why do you think they said in the 60s “hey ho Western Civ has got to go!” They were in the process of destroying morality through text books and MSM—when the courts removed obscenity laws and the leading professors in Universitiies replaced Classic knowledge and wisdom with The Beat filth which advocated “hanging boys and sodomizing them”.....(Bill Burroughs and his homosexual friends in the 50’s).

Wake up. There was an intentional LONG MARCH through the Insitutions—lots of books written about this-——all well-researched. All Cultural Marxists took over the university programs to destroy belief in God—destroy all morality and create cheaters, dysfunctional perverts—who sit in their basement addicted to whatever masturbating or using viagra—to replace the void in their souls and the lack of meaning in their life. They leave their families to the state to care for and shape into their slaves.

Those abused kids become Sanduskys and model what they learn. Wake up-—the sodomite Jerry Brown is destroying children as I speak with his corrupting the innocence of little kids——promoting sodomy—an evil, unnatural idea that would never occur to any innocent child. They fill the mind of the child with filth and unnatural ideas-—it is pure evil. They should not learn how to demean the human body and destroy all meaning of the sex act-—and make it into a vulgar, selfish, lust-filled act. Sex is the easiest way to destroy and corrupt young children’s minds. it leads to dysfunction, confused sexual identity—and hatred of human beings—particularly oneself. Emotionally weak people—dependent—never self-sufficient and capable of forming healthy family relationships. DESTROY THE NATURAL FAMILY—was Marx’s idea!!!!

The perfect dupe for government to control and manipulate and form into ignorant mobs—like ACORN people are those with no family support—nobody to love and fight for—dependent people with no initiative and Virtue.

Innocence and teaching VIrtue is what creates good, moral children===when they have a normal, healthy, happy childhood. Evil traumatic childhoods where children are exposed to evil concepts end up as psychopaths and Jeffrey Dahmers and Charles Mansons and Polansky.

It’s not their fault they don’t know anything. The ignorant ones will go with the program. They don’t know any better. The smart ones will realize that they’re being short-changed and ask their parents to do something about it, like my nephew did when he came home from his CA public school and told his parents he wasn’t learning anything. Within the next few days he was in a private school.

For all conservatives who bashed Bush for No Child Left Behind, that is what is causing all this cheating. The kicker is he added punishment, cut off of Federal funds, for schools who failed for 5 straight years. Now the chickens are coming home to roost and the Democrats and Teachers Unions are trying to avoid the consequences of their failures.

Another thing conservatives bashed Bush for was the prescription drug addition to Medicare. The first year it was implemented it saved $90 billion dollars. How? He introduced free enterprise into the government program by encouraging the big drug retailers to enter the game and they did. WalMart was filling most prescriptions for seniors for $4.00, often generics but the same stuff regardless.

Too many conservatives, many of them Freepers, bought the MSM misinformation about Bush. He did a good job but was blasted for it.
