Finally a chance for Newt to seek revenge and do it in front of America without any multi million dollar super pacs attacking him. 32 MILLION in attack ads is expected to be spent smearing Newt. GOOOOOOOOOOOO NEWT!!!!!!!!!!

No matter what. These candidates have to be exhausted. I don’t know why they scheduled a debate this week especially after non stop Iowa. I know the debate is in NH, but they have to be completely tired. I know they signed up for this and being President is not easy...just ask Obama (lol).

If Newt only ends up 5th place and below, I think he should drop out. We need only the top four to stay. Newt MIGHT end up fourth. I would say, Santorum, Romney, Bachmann, and Paul should stay. I think those four are going to do well in Iowa. The rest should drop out and endorse either Santorum or Bachmann. I pick Bachmann because I believe she will do better than expected.

$32 Million in attack ads on Newt Gingrich?

He’s the one Romney and the demonic-rats fear.

Praying for Newt Gingrich and for voters to discard these tactics, but if Iowa is any indication, voters are still swayed by the attack ads they claim to hate.

Go figure.

once again you are focusing on a pot luck supper straw poll in Iowa.. wait until after the SC primary and then decide who ought to drop out.. I bet we can pretty much agree then which non Romney candidate to consolidate behind.. hey if it’s Santorum then fine.. if it’s Perry then fine and if it’s Gingrich then fine... it’s then we need to decide

Since Romney is a front runner now..where are the attacks from the msm and Fox news? why is he given a pass? Onyx, I am so disheartened with this election. I will never vote for Romney or Paul.

http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/Super-PACs-Impact-2012/2011/12/31/id/422682

Data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics indicates 264 super PACs have raised more than $32 million and spent almost $16 million in the 2012 election cycle thus far, The Hill reports.

The lion’s share of the money those groups have spent has targeted former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, according to The Hill. The impact in Iowa is clear: Iowa voters are being reminded repeatedly about Gingrich’s ties to Freddie Mac, his divorces, and his lengthy Capitol Hill career.

Maybe a touch OT, but after watching the last three months’ worth of this circle jerk, I just gotta know:

SINCE WHEN DID THE MSM START DICTATING THE POLITICAL CAMPAIGN PROCEDURES AS WELL AS WHO IS FIT TO RUN FOR OFFICE?

(Or could it be that the reason Sarah left the way she did was that the media got irritated by her obvious lack of obiesience, warned her that they were about to start playing really rough and staged/televised that assault on Bristol just to make the point real clear......)

I’ve long ago fired the entire MSM anyway, maybe some of our candidates ought to think about telling them to pack sand as well.

In my opinion, these contests are not only about whose message is the best, but also about who can survive the meatgrinder. The people (especially those who the mainstream media are against) who can withstand the brutal and viscious nonstop barrage of the campaign have shown they can handle the job of President.

Obama, of course, was given a pass. ("Can't I just eat my waffles?" "Why of course, our Messiah")

yes, it's really a shame there was such a large gap in the debates before Iowa, people have short memories it seems, since they have forgotten in just 2 weeks what a stupid jerk Santorum is and how brilliant Newt is.

It’s very disheartening, but try equally hard to keep the faith. Iowa is important to the gleeful punditry and media, but Iowa won’t end Newt’s run.

The hard and very sad and sickening truth is that attack ads still work with too many voters, despite their highminded claims that they hate them.

Well, I hate them, and I refuse to vote for those candidate who engage in attack ads against rivals, instead of promoting themselves and their visions policies and ideas, and I have a very good memory.

Take cheap shots and that candidate is dead to me: off my list.

Now Newt Gingrich will have to fight back. Romney beware: GAME ON. Rivals beware: Game on!

Oh yes, I think you have it right, Unrepentant VN Vet!

Sarah Palin inasmuch as told the lamestream to pound sand or GTH. She even said that she would never sit down for an interview with Couric; adding that she wouldn't give interviews to the lamestream either, except on her terms and choosing.

I think she wisely elected not to run for many reasons -— her prayerful decision with her family; the serious death threats and the ugly media.

If Newt Gingrich can survive the vicious attacks and go onto win the nomination, he will go onto win the White House. Romney can't and won't. He refused to even call the Marxist “a socialist.” What a wimp.

A 9AM debate? That is about as bad as only televising half a debate and forcing viewers to watch the other half on an unreliable (to say the least) stream.

Looking so forward to the debate this saturday! I have faith that Newt will nail Romney over the multi million dollar smear campaigns and all America will bear witness. Newt will expose Mitt for the scumbag he is...and one of the debates in NH will be sponsored by the paper that endorsed Gingrich.
Have a feeling we may watch one of the hottest debates since the beginning of this campaign. Newt the fighter needs to show up.

Winning or losing Iowa won’t be the final word on who gets the nomination. Maybe it is a good thing the super pacs blew so much money in that corny state. NH should go to Romney as it is his backyard. I am upset over the fix in VA which may very well have gone to Gingrich but SC, GA, Fla and Alabama are not Romney country...unless Jeb Bush endorses Mittens in Fla and even then I dont think alot of Floridians will get on board.
Iowa has Paul in the top two? nuff said...sorry for the cornhuskers but they are idiots.

OH YES! I am also looking forward to both debates! I am very hopeful that Newt will take Romney and the others who ran attack ads to the woodshed, particularly Romney and Ron Paul. Dependent upon how Bachmann and Perry fared in Iowa, I expect that he won't give them a full pass either. Bachmann didn't run ads, but Perry did. Gloves off of Newt in these debates, but he will be placed toward the outside dependent again on Iowa's results.

The MSM and Fox desperately want Mittens to win and secure an automatic reelect for nobama.

Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, 9pm ET on ABC

Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, 9am ET on NBC (Yes, 9am)

Two debates this weekend. On Sunday morning, we can see how they debate sleep-deprived after the Saturday-night debate.
