Last Chance to Elect a True Conservative
Townhall.com ^ | January 2, 2012 | Douglas MacKinnon

"Okay. It is now officially crunch-time for conservative voters. Time for them to grow-up, stand on principle, admit there is not a perfect candidate, cast aside the pretenders, flip-floppers, and flakes, and unite behind the most genuine traditional values espousing candidate in the field. That being Texas governor Rick Perry."

Last I checked, conservatives didn’t use Executive Orders to legislate by dictate. Nor do they compromise our sovereignty by using socialism to subsidize foreigners. No thanks, Perry’s out, and that’s a good thing.

Good Perry article.

It’d be fun to hear your thoughts.

If you disagree, that’s okay! Let’s have some good discussion.

And if you’re a rabid Perry-Hater who just loves to come on Perry threads to throw junk...

It’d be fun to hear your vitriol, your baseless chatter and your transparent hyperbole, too! You’re fun to watch!

I agree.

Gingrich-led Republicans….the result:

* Four consecutive balanced budgets
* Over $400 billion of debt paid off
* Bipartisan welfare reform
* 11 million new jobs
* Unemployment falling to under 4%.

Newt believes that life begins at conception. That is why he has a 99 percent prolife record.

“Gingrich Reaffirms His Belief in the Sanctity of all Human Life, Born and Unborn

“Atlanta, GA – (12/3) – In advance of this evenings forum hosted by Mike Huckabee, Newt 2012 released the following statement today from Newt Gingrich regarding his belief in the sanctity of all human life, born and unborn.

“As I have stated many times throughout the course of my public life, I believe that human life begins at conception. I believe that every unborn life is precious, no matter how conceived. I also believe that we should work for the day when there will be no abortions for any reason, and that every unborn child will be welcomed into life and protected by law.”

Jim Robinson: “Newt: Pro-life Reaganite, led the Republican Revolution, took the congressional majority from the Democrats who had held it for 40 years; and even with a democrat president: cut taxes, cut spending, cut the national deficit, cut welfare, balanced the federal budget four years running, cut regulations, reduced unemployment, blocked socialized healthcare (HillaryCare) and encouraged the Reagan economy to flourish throughout his term and beyond. Not a bad conservative record at all. We can use some of this now!!”

Wrap it up in 24 hours and put a bow on it. BEAT WILLARD any way we can, folks : )

I love Gov Perry = BEST governor in the USA today! Bar none!!!

But it is what it is.

The very latest polling shows:

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — 23 percent ..LIBERAL DEM IS NOT GETTING OUR NOM IF SC & FL HAVE A SAY (And they do!)

Texas Rep. Ron Paul — 22 percent ..RACIST NUTJOB APPEALS TO DEMS & DRUGGIES

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum — 18 percent : ) ..GO RICK!

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich — 16 percent : ) ..GO NEWT!

Texas Gov. Rick Perry — 10 percent ..DROPS OUT WED

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann — 6 percent ..DROPS OUT WED

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman — 2 percent ..NO ONE CARES

Other — 1 percent

Undecided — 2 percent

The poll was completed Sunday night after the Des Moines Register poll of 729 Iowa Republicans likely to vote Tuesday and has a statistical error margin of 3.5 percent.

“It’s basically a two-tiered race,” Matt Towery, chief pollster for InsiderAdvantage, tells Newsmax. “The first tier is Romney, Paul, Santorum, and Gingrich.”

The remaining candidates no longer are players in the GOP race for president, Towery said.

The surprise of the poll, Towery said, is how well Gingrich is doing despite “seeing blood everywhere” after the massive pummeling he’s taken in local and national TV ads, largely funded by pro-Romney supporters, attacking the former speaker’s record.

The InsiderAdvantage closing survey for Iowa has been the most accurate poll in predicting the winner. The poll foresaw John Kerry’s upset over Howard Dean in 2004, Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton in 2008, and Mike Huckabee’s surprise victory that same year.

Yeah, JDW11235 is pretty baseless, isn’t he? I want someone who remembers the Alamo, so Perry’s out.

Is it too much for these bloggers to just state up front that they personally are for canidate X for XYZ reason instead of this absolutism”

“Last Chance to Elect a True Conservative”

OR

“Time for them to grow-up, stand on principle, admit there is not a perfect candidate, cast aside the pretenders, flip-floppers, and flakes, and unite behind the most genuine traditional values espousing candidate in the field. That being Texas governor Rick Perry.”

Hell the Santorum people are barking the same annoying lines. Ditto with the Paul, and Bachman supporters.

THEY ALL THINK THAT PERSON IS THE “TRUE” CONSERVATIVE!

And that we all “need” to “stand for principal”....just make sure it’s for their candidate.

This’n pretty much said in the first paragraph that they were for Governor Perry.

But I agree! Let’s pick someone and stand behind them!

I mean, really...pick someone you believe in and support the hell out of them!

I’ve picked Governor Perry!

No, I’m not baseless. Did or did not Rick Perry use an executive order (which is only to be used to change an executive policy), to bypass actual legislation. YEs, he did, and he admitted to doing so.

Did or did not Rick Perry give subsidized tuition to illegal aliens in Texas. Yes he did. Only a moron would call something “baseless” when it’s so easy to show that it’s not.

Don’t want a President who is going to be “Gardasiling” from Washington. Might give him the mulligan that he didn’t fully understand what he was doing, but it still stinks of crony capitalism.

It’s also unlikely that Perry, while still a sitting governor of Texas (and not a lame duck yet), would make much noise about illegales. Leaving us to guess from his checkered past what his Washington policy would be.
