Liberal talk show host Alan Colmes sunk to new a new low when he said on Fox News that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum took his deceased baby home to 'play with it.'
Noting that the GOP has "speed-dated" every other candidate, Colmes said voters should "get a load" of what he called the "crazy things" Santorum has said and done.
"Like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple hours so his other children would know it was real, I mean..."
At this point, Fox News contributor Rich Lowry tore into Colmes, calling his statement a "cheap shot."
Lowry lambasted Colmes for "mocking" the death of Santorum's child and said it was beneath the liberal talker, sometimes known as "Skeletor" among some conservatives

To anyone who has suffered the death of a baby, for your insensity and lack of respect..As if a dead child should simply be swept under the rug and forgotten about. To me, for starters...and to my two “potatoes”, one who now runs a homeless shelter for teens in LA and the other who is a fireman.
What is wrong with the Liberals? If the tables were turned and a Conservative said something like this all hell would break loose.
The fact that you are taking a known a-hole's unsubstantiatedd word for most of the above tells me that the sickness is in your mind.

I have looked at all my history and it appears intact.

Perhaps not, if you consider that the dead child was thought of as being part of the Santorum family. Bringing the child home gave the other children the chance to see their dead sibling and say goodbye.
It also taught the children a lesson in respect for a dead human being — something they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. These children will not grow up as members of the “pro-choice” generation.
Well sailor, since you're such a veteran here maybe it's high time you pull up anchor and chug your little tugboat over to DU harbor.

No, Rick Santorum did not bring this up. His wife wrote a book called “Letters to Gabriel” which described their grief and healing process. It was touching and helpful for those of us who lost children before birth and “gasp” mourned them under our own roof.
He’ll meet a few longboats filled with Viking Kitties at this rate ;)
He already is. Dang his parents must have hated that boy to make him so mean and hateful.
Thank you..I am sorry too..But, I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and 4 wonderful surviving children. And I am sure that my children in Heaven are waiting and watching for me and their Dad, with their grandparents and relatives :)
OK, you win. But you should still have a decent respect for people who want to handle their grief a little differently than you would prefer. And you should be aware that you sound like you’re supporting Colmes which really has people upset.
