ATLANTA (AP) -- Former President Jimmy Carter has some advice for Barack Obama as he gears up for the 2012 election: Don't alienate voters with controversial positions.

The Georgia Democrat told The Associated Press on Tuesday that just about everything he did alienated voters, from sealing a treaty to hand over the Panama Canal to establishing diplomatic ties with China.

Carter said: "If your main goal is to get re-elected, avoid a controversial subject as much as you can in the first term."

Jimmah Cahtah. Always a day late and a dollar short. Unless he means that he doesn’t want Barry O loading up the voter rolls with illegal aliens.

"If your main goal is to get re-elected, avoid a controversial subject as much as you can in the first term."

$15 trillion in debt and climbing.
Allowing Islamic takeovers of governments while bowing to Mecca.
Selling guns to illegals and criminals to be trained on American citizens.
Passing laws that allow American citizens to be detained without trial on trumped-up charges.
Ramming socialized medicine through a complicit leftist Congress.

We can go on...

Carter forgot to tell Obama not wreck the economy or to appease Iran’s mad mullahs.

Jimma, I’ve got some FYEO advice for you. Don’t let the muslims take over Iran. And stay away from killer rabbits.

Carter the douche bag even tried to get the Soviets to help him defeat Ronald Reagan in 1980. There is noting good to be said about this POS.

Oh, and don’t lust after women in your heart. And make sure you mention that the country is in a deep malaise.

Obama can count on blacks, most hispanics, fruits, and teachers, and maybe half of government employees (but, then again, most government employees — especially in the blue states and Washington D.C. — are black so that’s redundant). He can no longer count on the youth, the independents, and anyone who has a real job (i.e., not a government job), and that includes most union workers (the union leadership may be in the tank for Obama, but a hell of a lot of the rank and file despise him).

Obama will get desperate, and if you think he’s bad now, just wait until he thinks he’s political toast.

Better still here’s hoping that Carter’s “dirt nap” is not far off!

This actually quite funny. Carter lecturing Obama on avoiding misery index-type policies after Obama has already trashed the economy for the past three years.

Horse and barn door come to mind.

Jimmah, you’re too late. POS nobama has been alienating voters since the first time he ran in Illinois.

and that includes most union workers (the union leadership may be in the tank for Obama, but a hell of a lot of the rank and file despise him).

I'm glad I'm not the only one that knows that. I know a lot of union workers and many didn't vote for him the first time and even more won't vote for him this time around.

My son is a union iron worker, he hears the same thing. My other son is a cop, same story.

I honestly believe that any of the possible nominees could beat Obama, that's why it's so important that we keep Romney off the ticket.

How many people know that Carter actually met with the Russian diplomat in DC and personally asked their help in his re election against Reagan?

Little late there, Jimbo. OTOH, at least with him, we never had to worry about his having a long form ... the Empty Suit just keeps looking worse by the day.
