What did the US economy do to Mexico, just curious.
Uh one factor,....Just a wild guess, but I suspect many Americans no longer have the money to go on week long cruises to Mehico.

Really?.....the Disney parks in Orlando were filled to overflow during the holidays....and tickets aren't cheap!
Just last week the parks were at capacity!
Restaurants in our town are full all the time....
...Folks are getting their money somewhere.....and plenty of peole are still going on cruises.

True, and maybe a weaker dollar means Mexico is a less budgetarily attractive place for those still fortunate enough to be in the money, to go. Mexico attracted because it was paradise on the cheap.

As someone with direct knowledge of the cruise industry, I can tell you definitively that cruises are mostly booked solid -- on the disney, carnival, royal carib classes of ships.
these ships are not filled with rich people either.
I think it is more about these cities being absolute armpits where you are constantly harassed to buy crappy stuff. A lot of the Mexican cities in the Caribbean are not worth leaving the ship unless you have a guided tour.
