Ouch: Rick Santorum’s Young Nephew Endorses Ron Paul
Mediaite ^ | 01/05/2012 | Joe Bershad

The young people of today love them some Ron Paul. He's like Kelly Clarkson of GOP candidates. Hell, he's so much like the pop star Kelly Clarkson, she endorsed him. However, until now, many people have attempted to just brush off this youth support as nothing but a bunch of stoners. An endorsement he received today might sting a little more though. It comes from the 19 year old nephew of Rick Santorum.

The nephew, John Garver, wrote a column over at the Daily Caller in which he says Americans should only elect his uncle if they “want another big-government politician who supports the status quo to run our country.” Ooh, that hurts.

RELATED: Rick Santorum: ‘Ron Paul Is Disgusting’

He continues:

“It is because of this inability of status quo politicians to recognize the importance of our individual liberties that I have been drawn to Ron Paul. Unlike my uncle, he does not believe that the American people are incapable of forming decisions. He believes that an individual is more powerful than any group (a notion our founding fathers also believed in).

Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate trying to win the election for a reason other than simply winning the election.”

Popular Tumblrer Stacy Lambe linked to the column saying that he knows Garver’s family and that, in the extended Santorum clan, they are the “black sheep.”

If they weren’t before, they certainly are now.

You can read the rest of Garver’s piece here.

"Every family has weak genes somewhere."

That is basically what I was going to say. What came to my mind is;

We all have Nuts in our family.

Many families with teenage children have radical progressive teen-aged idiots... that is because they were indoctrinated in the dim's communist training camps called public schools. BTW... Reagan's son and daughter voted for carter.

but enough of them are to make a difference and those who are not are being misled.

Or they don't care about the areas where Paul is a "nutcase" and vote on their big issues.

Less government. Check. 2nd Amendment. Check. Pro-life. Check. Balanced budget. Check. Foreign policy? Goes too far but I voted domestic first. I'm no neo-con, but I'm more of a Reagan on foreign policy than I am Paul or either Bush.

For the record, I'm not voting for Romney, but haven't decided yet. My primary is up in February, and I want to see how the field shakes out first. It probably depends who is closest to Romney in the polls.

These kids remind me of all those idiots that voted for Ross Perot.

They will eventually grow up and wise up but for now they are delusional.

An endorsement by a 19 year-old college student carries just slightly more weight than an endorsement by John McCain.

LOL. Close. More positive weight. A lot of folks see the McCain endorsement as reaffirmation that Romney sucks.

There was obviously a time when he wanted something (perhaps a job) from his uncle and didn’t get it.

Santorum reminds me a heck of a lot of Dave Seville from the Chipmunk movies.

Cross-reference Newt's sister or Non Reagan.

Thanks. We must never forget what Islam has done and is STILL DOING to our Christian brothers and sisters and other human beings who are not Muslims.

I LOVE that Psalm. Never read it before.

"The young people of today love them some Ron Paul"

Anyone who writes like this isn't worth reading...

I agree. If an author is going to use ebonics, he should use it properly. It should read: "The young people of today loves them some Ron Paul."

“It probably depends who is closest to Romney in the polls.”

My thoughts exactly. But again, I really believe Paul’s foreign policy makes him unelectable. His son is much more reasonable. Paul also has probablems with racist baggage - true or not.

Yeah, the young voters who voted for George Herbert Walker Bush were delusional as well. They were delusional too thinking GB would carry on the legacy of Reagan.
