The point you make is exactly the reason I think he can't/won't. He is, at bottom, too "nice" to "get down and dirty" as will necessary in this coming election. It is most emphatically NOT going to be about "...taking every question and answering it fully and completely...and graciously".
McCain had the same in the last election. Palin has it, Gingrich has it, "maybe" Perry has it.
