Romney is everything slimely you said and worse. He is truly the enemy within. I’m all but certain he was behind a lot of the Sarah Palin smearing because she presented the biggest hurdle to him in his insatiable quest for power to the presidency should she have wanted to to run, particularly if McCain had won and served as a one term president.
Imagine, the clout of VP Sarah Palin running. No chance for Romeny.
Also imagine the clout of an unblemished Sarah Palin running this year, or just Sarah Palin running this year! Watch ou Romney!

I think I specifically mentioned that, so it’s rather disingenous of you to claim otherwise, especially while pretending you are outraged over misleading statements.
Gingrich PLED to the charge he was “sentenced” for by the house. That plea deal dismissed all the other charges. The one serious charge was later dismissed by the IRS. But that was a legal issue; the ethics charges were dismissed as part of the “plea deal” which Gingrich agreed to.
Gingrich’s lawyer was very careful here. He attacks specific falsehoods, like calling the $300,000 a “fine” instead of a “penalty”. Doesn’t change the fact, which is found in the congressional record, and in the contemporaneous news reports, about what exactly happened.
Six months ago nobody here at FR would be whining about people pointing this stuff out. This is what we have come to, having to support a flawed candidate with real baggage by pretending the baggage doesn’t exist and attacking people who point out actually pieces of factual information.
