Romney has this wrapped up. /s
romney will lose to obama
especially if the economy doesn’t backslide this year
why vote for obamacare-lite when you get obamacare?
Who died and left you boss?
No thank you. I actually oppose bigger government.
Newt has gone crazy these past two weeks. He needs medication. Not endorsement from DeMint.
DeMint should endorse Perry.
I support Newt because he’s all that’s left. At the least he will draw a huge distinction between himself and Obama in debate.
Romney would get up on a stage and kiss Obama’s butt.
doesn’t /s mean sarcasm off?
“Newt has gone crazy these past two weeks.”
Perry supporters should be the last people to call any candidate crazy.
I love you for posting this. Thank you very much.
Here is an email I sent to Amy Kremer, yesterday, one of the leaders of the tea party express - it’s another SC thing that people can do:
I sent the following email to Amy Kremer, of the Tea Party Express, asking them to endorse Newt before the SC Primary. I have asked many others to do the same, and many already have. Please consider sending the Tea Party Express an email asking them to endorse Newt soon.
The other links are for SC newspapers for those who would like to send Letters to the Editor.
It seems obvious if Romney is running ads against Newt, not Santorum, that he understands who the real threat to the Romney campaign is...
If you support Newt, it’s time to double down.
Dear Ms. Kremer
Its difficult to get through a 24-hour news cycle these days without someone describing 2012 as the most important election of our lifetime, and even though its become something of a cliché, I really do believe 2012 is the most important election of my lifetime.
One only has to listen to Newt Gingrich in a simple town-hall format, during the course of a debate, or speaking on the trail, to understand he is the man with the record, the experience, the in-depth knowledge of Washington, DC, to hit the ground running on Day One, and to start turning things around immediately. Newt has talked about the Executive Orders he will sign into effect before the Obamas plane lands in Chicago on Inauguration Day. It is precisely that kind of hit-the-ground-running aggression that gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, with Newt in the White House, we can actually begin to turn this country around and pull it back from the cliff, where Obama and his party have relentlessly driven it.
Many of us, even those who don’t support Newt, are very, very concerned about having another candidate requiring on-the-job training in the office of the Presidency. Things move too quickly, are too complex, for someone without an authoritative command of Washington, and how things work, to push through their agenda, our agenda, to restore this country to its foundations and original principles.
Newt has served in close proximity to the Presidency, walked the executive, as well as the legislative halls in DC, and he will be coming home, not showing up for freshman orientation; in an uncertain world, when seconds count, we can afford no less in our candidate, and offer our country no less.
Besides his competence and courage going forward, besides the fact Newt can handle the media, the Republican establishment and elite, without allowing them to thwart or distort his agenda, Newt wont allow the DC machine, coupled with the national media, to define him, or defeat his agenda. Many of our less-experienced, less-conservative candidates will find it difficult to advance any agenda in DC, where gridlock is game one, and the political machinery will grind them to pieces.
Newt has led us to victory before in an overwhelmingly hostile environment, during times of great dispute, and he has prevailed again and again when all odds were against him and the Conservative Republicans he championed. Surely you know his 1994 Contract with America was one of many cornerstones of todays conservative body of thought, and Newt delivered on his promises. And he will again.
Its really this simple: in a time when events and institutions are careening out of control, when each new day brings complex problems to confound the wisest of men, we need the courage, and the experience of Newt Gingrich once again to re-establish the Founders vision for this country. Newts intellect, and his understanding of history are without compare. Albert Einstein once said, “The problems in the world today are so enormous they cannot be solved with the level of thinking that created them.” The people and the thinkers, who created this mess, cant fix it. That is apparent. Newt Gingrich can.
Please consider, in the depth of your heart, your own heart, the heart of your organization, giving Newt your endorsement, and soon. There is simply no one, no other single candidate, who can step up, reach up, and stand in the gap for this country, and pull it back from the brink, the way Newt Gingrich can and will do from Day One.
Thank you so much for reading this and considering Newt.
May God be with all of us.
Tea party emails:

At the Huckabee forum Newt Gingrich said he would eliminated the EPA....and replace it with an Environmental Solutions Agency.
The man is still clinging to the global warming scam which can only grow government.
And then there’s the immigration issue which is another government growth hormone.
Why would DeMint endorse someone who has a different view of the roll of government than he has?
I’d vote for DeMint.
I won’t vote for Newt and the BS line that because man is responsible for global warming, his activities must be controlled and taxed by a powerful government.
Newt blew it for me when he went on that fraudulent AGW tour with Nazi Pelosi.
I agree with you (again, as many times before).
I have to reluctantly agree with you. Newt is not the ideal candidate, but has become the default candidate. The libs fear him, and you can tell because of all the slime being tossed his way by the libs (gop libs included).... Newt at the top of the ticket, with santorum on deck to be the next batter ( or find a real conservative that is not well known, but has the “stuff” to make it with the right training)
Yeah...the mainstream media went nuts when Gingrich was up in the Iowa poll. They are terrified of him because he’s much smarter, and quicker than their lefty interviewers.
Did you see the job he did on Scott Pelley of CBS? He made him look like a five year old playing reporter.
Romney will surely lose in November and the country will be surrendered to the socialists. Newt is all that is between us and a 1960s style Great Britain.
Maybe because he did this, for starters...
Newt insisted on moving the Contract With America intact. He abolished committees and denied old bulls chairmanships. He insisted on using the majority to win conservative victories such as balancing budgets, achieving welfare reform and producing 11 million new jobs with tax cuts that spurred economic growth. He made some people unhappy when he pursued legislation that could win instead of pet bills that would have divided Republicans rather than uniting them.
And he negotiated with a Democratic president to get the conservative legislation being passed signed into law. Some Republicans were left unhappy in the wake of all of that activity some of them are still complaining today.
Newt blew it for me when he went on that fraudulent AGW tour with Nazi Pelosi.
Maybe you could read this, and watch this, where Newt testifies before Congress against c&t the same day Al Gore testified for it:
Newt Rips Al Gores Facts to Pieces

I wouldn’t say mitchell001 was acting as boss but as a team member with a good suggestion. You must be on another team.
All that’s left of the GOP runners are left of left Wannabes.
The democrats are doing a great job of choosing the republican candidate they want to run against. The result is democrats win either way.
If that is true, why would people call and say, please endorse Dede Scozzafava's BFF? If I called and said, "I am a tea partier, who speaks only for myself" I would ask him to endorse Perry.
Sorry, Newt has played the reaching-across-the-aisle game too long.
He won a majority for the GOP in 94 with his Contract with America and then promptly tore that contract to pieces.
He was able to push through a conservative agenda and aid the economy only because Clinton had lost majorities and had several scandals that compromised his ability to rule from the hard left.
Newt’s support of AGW (and all the socialist governmental control that it entails) combined with his support of amnesty for criminals in our country puts him in the Romney camp of Democrat-lite.
If you want to settle for the lesser of two evils, you are free to do so. I have for the past two decades. I will not do so again.
why do I have the feeling you didn’t click on any of the links?
Yes, and I predict that he will do just that.
I didn’t, because I don’t need to, because I’ve already seen them.
Refuting Gore and then turning around supporting the government that is in the same direction that Gore wants is not a winner for me. Refuting Gore and then proving that man is NOT responsible for any type of climate change and that therefore the environmental restrictions on man’s business and personal activities needs to be lifted is a huge winner for me.
Just as Romney stating he will undo Obama’s state-run medical control is not a winner for me. Romney could have and should have used his Romneycare as an example of failed government-run healthcare in order to defeat Obama’s state-run medical control. Instead, we find the latter was blueprinted based on the former. Romney has blown it with me, too.
Look, we are, in fact, at the edge of the cliff. It is possible in a theoretical view to fix this economy. But the hardships that this would require, I believe, are far too severe for what the spoiled-rotten masses will endure. It would require a hardcore conservative with incredible leadership abilities to prevent the financial Armageddon that I believe is inevitable. So my thinking is, if we can’t get that candidate, we sure as hell should not give them a RINO. If we do, when the economy collapses in the next 4 years, as it seems most likely, the left will blame the collapse on “conservatism,” “capitalism,” “the free market,” and the “mean-spirited Republicans.”
I will vote only for a hardcore conservative who understands where we are. I’d rather the left win the offices and to allow the collapse to land fully in their laps so that there will be no doubt and they will never be trusted again.
I do not believe that Newt is the leader we so desperately need.
Didn’t DeMint say he wouldn’t endorse anyone until a nominee is selected?
DeMint is not going to endorse anybody this year, which is why the E went after fake Teapartier nikki haley.
No way Demint endorses Newt.
The rinos can’t deny Gingrich’s solid record of conservative accomplishment. Which of the other candidates have lowered taxes, reformed welfare, created jobs in the private sector, and balanced the federal budget, all while fighting a hostile press and a Democrat White House?
Why do you feel that your support for Newt entitles you to make snarky comments about Perry and Perry supporters?
When will you people learn that this alienates people who might end up supporting the candidates you favor.
Some posters I’ve dealt with lately make me want to hate Newt because of their nastiness.
However, I don’t hate Newt. He’s my second choice.
I don’t think Barack Obama is the one we desperately need. I think we need somebody to replace him... Newt, though imperfect, is a fighter, and can dismantle the machine. That alone, is worthy of a vote. You are handing America over to the ones who will manage its decay, and then making excuses for yourself. I am from a military family, what Obama intends to do to the military in the next 4 years, is reason enough to vote for anybody but Paul to replace him. You have to get some perspective. I know the republicans have disappointed you before, but you can’t be feeling like this, it isn’t good for you or America.
Don’t vote for the collapse.
Newt supported the biggest expansion of the entitlement program, the Medicare prescription Drug Program, Demint did not.
Newt supported the concept of manmade global warning and the need for the government to take urgent action, Demint does not.
If DeMint doesn’t endorse until the primaries are over, then he’s not endorsing period.
Unless you think he’d endorse Obama.
Newt still says Manmade Global Warming is real and I can’t get over it. I want Santorum or Gingrich but this is a huge problem. Santorum is the social conservative.
Pray for America
In 2008, Demint endorsed Romney. He has said that he will not endorse Romney this time unless he admits that Romneycare was a mistake. I suspect that he will endorse no one before the SC primary similar to what Steve King did in Iowa. Both may eventually endorse a candidate before the primaries are over.
Seems to me like he was responding in kind.
Newt is an absolutely brilliant historian and a fantastic debater. Nobody can surpass him in these aspects. Let there be no question.
But he also has been portrayed successfully by the MSM as an unstable person and an angry whiner. This portrait may be unfair, but it isn’t going to change.
Moreover, whether you and I like it or not, the American people simply are not going to elect as POTUS a man who they think is an unstable person and an angry whiner.
I’ve never see Fox News so apoplectic about someone on our side of the aisle. I’m tempted to send them a package of paper bags to breathe into.
That way we have no need to reduce government employees, you are a very mean person, LOL
I sent this out to about 200 people this morning. A lot of the FReeper’s here are trashing the only candidate that can beat Romney and Obama. And if this happens I am bookmarking this post. You guys are going to have blood on your hands.
Who in the hell do you think has the troops on the ground to defeat Romney other than Newt? Santorum is broke with little organization in the remaining states, Paul is about to get his teeth kicked in, Perry is done along with Huntsman.
God, get a reality grip here people.
Take a moment and watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLweKX3BkNM&feature=youtu.be
After watching this ask yourself who has the moxie to withstand the Obama machine in the general election? We need a Rocky that can take a punch and go 15 rounds and still win. We need someone that understands history so that we do not re-live it. We need someone that believes in what the Founders intended. We need someone that has the balls to say what is not PC. We need someone that understands the equality of the three branches. We as a Country need a leader compared to the election of 1860. This is the most historic election in the history of this country. This next President will have 3-4 Supreme Court appointees. Can one imagine if Obama would get that opportunity? The outcome would be seen beyond a generation. These appointments by Obama would be the long term destruction of our Republic.
Who is running that can meet the above criteria? Who can withstand the upcoming slime from the DNC? No one other than Newt. Newt has the political background and credentials from working directly with Reagan and Kemp in the 80s along with the Republican Revolution in the 90s as the speaker of the House. Newt knows where the bodies are buried in D.C. and he is not welcome with the RNC and hence why he is being blasted by the establishment.
Romney has been anointed for four years by the establishment and Newt is their biggest road-block. Newt is behind in polling in SC and FL. But why would Romney put out attack ads yesterday on Newt? Because he knows IF he can knock him out, Santorum and Paul are a laugher. Romney cant get more than 25-30% and his strategy is to keep these guys in the hunt long enough that they will all get a split of the pie which will be less than he is polling (25-30%) and he walks away with each states primary with his threshold of 25-30% and wins. This is the RNCs plan along with Mittens.
This country is in such a mess and people say Newt has baggage but so does >50% of the population. Tell me, what information does anyone have on our current President? His past life has been erased. He has no baggage. Go figure.
Just like Churchill, Newt is the man for this time and place in history.
God, pray for my children, my babies and my Country during this election. And if Obama is elected again, this will be an IQ test for anyone that voted for the usurper the first time.
With Newts economic plan of slashing capital gains, reducing corporate taxes etc. the stock market is going to explode in 2013. Learn more here: http://www.newt.org/
Have a great weekend and send Newt a greeting with some cash!
Not only could Newt defeat BHO, he could also defeat Romney - IF we’d all get behind him now, before it’s too late. None of the others are up to the monumental job of going head to head with BHO and the media behemoth.
But as long as we stay divided over who’s the “purest”, without regard for who can take down BHO face to face without flinching, we’ll find ourselves stuck with Romney in no time.
I dont have anything personal against Perry.
I DO have a real issue with a candidate that almost immediately bombed out of the gate, had to then partially disappear from the race to “retool” himself to yet continue to bomb. Then to hear boasting from his supporters about his big comeback only to finish poorly in Iowa, where he then vanish from the race for 24 hours (Most of his staff thought he was out) to then announce that he ins’t out but will now stay in!
How can anyone confidently believe that he will be anything but an unstable candidate? Some people running start badly and get better, some start great and end poorly.
Perry, and supporters just keep thinking that we need to keep paying attention to him for no other reason other than “his message” no matter how poorly delivered and clumsily the rest of his candidacy is.
If his supporters are alienated by people pointing this out, imagine how they will feel when Obama/MSM gets at him.
Thank you, but the strongest candidate, with the best executive credentials, is Governor Rick Perry. Credentials aside, he has a great family life, is patriotic, has deep religious conviction, is a former Eagle Scout, and a veteran. He has built successful relationships through the Republican Governors Association. The governor Conservatives were begging to run for president, Bobby Jindal, has endorsed Governor Perry. His skills and experience are sound. I believe Mr Gingrich has struggled to find his place in life, all his life, and there is no proof he won’t stay on that course. That said, he’s a valuable human being and deserves all the respect in the world for his knowledge of Washington and his debating skills. Governor Perry is learning how to debate and will have it mastered by election time. Please support Governor Perry who knows first hand all the dangers we face due to illegal immigration (invasion) and would have our borders under control from a federal level soon after being sworn in to protect and defend. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has endorsed Governor Perry.
I don’t much like the idea of replacing the Environmental Protection Agency with the Environmental Solutions Agency either suggested by Mr Gingrich. It’s so Washington DC.
Great points, well said. Sure, he has faults as they ALL do - but these accomplishments are huge - he’s proven worthy of fighting, and defeating, the giants.
Your post doesn’t make any sense. Ooops, sorry.
How can you imply that Perry would make an unstable candidate when his entire life and political history has been stable and consistent?
And when you are left with two candidates who are just weird in so many ways.
Oh, don’t get me wrong, I will support Newt if it comes to that and Santorum if I have to, but Perry is the one with the right ideas, the right record.
I think Perry felt he’d given his all in Iowa and did have to stop and think about his path.
If you think there’s something wrong with that, okay, but I don’t.
He decided that quitting after one caucus was not fair to him or his supporters and decided to continue.
He never announced he was out.
Obviously the loyalty of Perry’s supporters annoys you, but it’s what we feel.
Who is your candidate?
