Romney Surrogate: Electability Should Trump 'Beliefs and Principles'
Fox News online ^ | Published January 07, 20 | FoxNews.com

A New Hampshire surrogate for Mitt Romney said at a local political event that it's evident he will be the Republican presidential nominee and suggested that "beliefs and principles" should not be the deciding factor for voters. State Sen. Gary Lambert said the most important thing is to nominate somebody who can defeat President Obama. "I don't get it. This is not about picking a favorite, it's not about picking someone you like," Lambert said. "It's not about picking someone even with your own beliefs and principles. This is about picking a person who can beat Barack Obama, period."

The GOP has become the mythical Vietnamese village. It will have to be destroyed to be saved.

How many of the freshmen class that were sent to congress in 2010 have been co-opted by Bonehead and Cantor?

THE REAL DEAL

If Willard were "the most electable",
THEN WHY DOES HE HAVE TO CHEAT AND BACKSTAB?

American FLIP FLOPPER, the Chameleon-Teflon Milt:
"I bet you $10,000 that I will be as conservative as Kennedy or McCain."

"Vote Count Error? Did Rick Santorum Really Win the Iowa Caucuses?
DES MOINES, Iowa - Edward True, 28, of Moulton, said he helped count the votes
and jotted the results down on a piece of paper to post to his Facebook page.
He said when he checked to make sure the Republican Party of Iowa
got the count right, he said he was shocked to find they hadn’t.
“When Mitt Romney won Iowa by eight votes and I’ve got a
20-vote discrepancy here, that right there says Rick Santorum won Iowa,” True said. “Not Mitt Romney.”

"Several UNREPORTED news reports have it that Romney
did not win the Iowa Caucuses.
Barring any objective, verifiable proof that shows more than 12 votes mistakenly
being credited to Santorum, Romney lost."

"Could Typo Rewrite Caucus History? (Santorum may regain win)"

“It’s not about picking someone even with your own beliefs and principles. This is about picking a person who can beat Barack Obama, period.”

There is little point in winning an election if the person that gets elected is going to do the same as the one who got voted out of office. Replacing Obama with Obama-lite is not acceptable- tantamount to defeat, in fact. And Myth Romney is a NE gun-grabbing liberal, regardless of what he says or how well he can balance a checkbook, or whatever people think of his hair, demeanor or family.

“beliefs and principles should not be the deciding factor for voters”

Just vote for any piece of crap your party puts up. For certain the Democrats have worse crap.

Our country can’t long endure this nonsense.

I will not under ANY circumstances voter for Mitt Romney.

I see Paul as a nutcase, so he’s out.

Santorum took himself out of the race yesterday, when he mentioned his intent for an “immediate” cut SS for retired seniors. I think Obama would have eaten him alive anyway. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2829774/posts

Perry can’t seem to get out of the ditch, so he doesn’t seem to be a player.

So....

GO NEWT GO...........

Gary Lambert is the poster child for everything that is wrong with the GOP. What a putz. Enjoy another four years in the wilderness, Gary, ‘cuz that’s what you’re going to get with Willard.

Good post.

This was the best part:

Speaker Gingrich led Republicans....the results:

* House Conservative Republicans Back After 40 Years In the Wilderness

* Voting On Each of the Contract With America’s Conservative Principles

* Four Consecutive Balanced Budgets (Remember what those looked like, folks?)

* Successful Massive Welfare Reform

* 11 Million New Jobs

* Unemployment Down To 4%

GO NEWT GO......

Wow there is hope. I am so happy that the majority so far agree with me that this is the EXACT reason Romney doesn’t deserve to be President.

If you don’t have any beliefs or principles that guide your actions. ANYTHING is acceptable.
(definition of a Dumocrat)

Sorry I will stick with my beliefs and principles Romnuts.

I heard probably on Fox since that was what I was watching. 2 (?) caucus locations had called in their numbers but whoever lost them. When they called back they had “thrown away” the results. SERIOUSLY?

Then the Romney and another campaign “agree” on a number for the results.

Iowa is meaningless as far as I’m concerned.

...having a republican president does carry huge benefits. Judges, US attorneys, etc.

Hope you're not referring to Supreme Court Judges. Exhibit A:

Be careful if you think electing Romney will get us good judges. More likely, Willard will shed his "conservative" façade and give us more Kagans, Ginsburgs and of course, "wise latinas" [sic].

I saw this LIVE also. It was wonderful, after the initial shock! It revealed the Establishment rules Romney, and all of his supporters for all the world to see! An emperor-has-no-clothes moment! Just, wowsers!

1. Romney is NOT electable as Conservatives will NOT vote for him if he is the nominee. That is a FACT. Which means he is unelectable.

2. Only reason Romney is up in some unlikely polls is that 20%+ democratics have temporarily switched parties to vote for the most easily beatable candidate for Zero, which is Romeny.

3. Ron Paul is indirectly working for the Democrats. Do you notice how Ron Paul NEVER bashes Romney? Never. Ron Paul bashes Conservatives much more than he ever bashes ZERO. Ron Paul never bashes Zero and will only start bashing Romney, if/when he were to become the nominee.

4. Free Republic is an Anti-Romney website. This will never change. He Romney were to win the nomination, look for Free Republic to expose his liberalism as much as we expose Obama. FACT

Anyone who says Romney is electable is refusing to live in the real world. Conservatives will not vote for Romney in the General election.

One thing about it the Establishment Rove/Bush cabal is REALLY desperate to see Romney anointed. Means status quo as far as I’m concerned.

Well, Mr. Lambert, replacing a Progressive Democrat with a Progressive Republican isn't going to get America anywhere.

Do you get that?

Ahhh...RIIIGGHT!

If you believe, as do I, that if we weaken or lose the Second Amendment which codifies and affirms our God-given right to defend ourselves and our loved ones from private – AND PUBLIC — criminals, it will pretty much be OVER here, better take the time to look at these:

Why Do They Want Our Guns?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j73SsNFgBO4

And let’s get over this every 4-year fixation on the beauty contest known as “The Presidential Race” and take out more of the trash still remaining on Capitol Hill. If we elected some folks with spines and cajones, they could stop a tyrant over at 1600 dead in his tracks!

DAMN! This stuff drives me absolutely berserk. If the belief and principles are true and worth fighting for, FOR HEAVEN’s SAKE, LEARN TO ARTICULATE THEM! Make the believes and principles the battleground.
