Soldier asks for reduction of 10-year sentence for rape of Korean girl

The U.S. soldier whose rape case was largely responsible for the reinstatement of a curfew for all American servicemembers in South Korea appeared before an appeals court Thursday asking that his 10-year prison sentence be reduced.

The US military maintains its own section in the Suwon Prison for its US military prisoners separate from the Koreans. These convicted felons get command and chaplain visits regularly. Have their own kitchen and are provided food, reading materials and staples from the commissary and PX/BX. They also have TV and internet connections. Their quality of life is excellent compared to the local nationals.

How about he can get a reduction of sentence but in return they cut off his testicles for laying a hand on a woman.

There was a guy who did something similar while I was there. Raped the girl with an umbrella, bottle, and a number of other items.

I’d say the guy is lucky to only get 10 yrs. He should do it in the korean side of the prison. People are actually scared of going to prison in korea.

During that time, he also punched and slapped the victim in the face, stole a small amount of money from her wallet, dragged her across the room, threatened her with a knife and pair of scissors, and burned her breast with a lighter, among other things, according to court records and testimony”.

NO MERCY! He got off very easy.

When I first got there we were told a story of a guy who had raped a village girl. The villagers caught and hung him up by his wanker. Not sure if its true but thats what this guy deserves.

As Driftdiver alluded, things are very different now.
The west exported much of the world manufacturing industries to Asia, and with it went education and prosperity far beyond what was available to them in the mid 20th century.
