The U.S. soldier whose rape case was largely responsible for the reinstatement of a curfew for all American servicemembers in South Korea appeared before an appeals court Thursday asking that his 10-year prison sentence be reduced.

Actually, I fell down a mountain at night in a freak blizzard while trying to get two jerry cans of deisel to our genorators before they conked out.

People are actually scared of going to prison in korea. Ironically I just finished a audiobook entitled 'Brother One Cell.' In the 90's a guy 23 (not military) tried to smuggle drugs into the country. He got over 3 years at Jacjon prison. His cell was 9' long by about a little over 4' wide.

The guy was stupid all he had to do go outside the gates and he had his choice of whores at any age..If it really was rape he deserves all the time they gave him since he did not have to rape anyone..

If you get away from the bases and bars, Korea is an absolutely beautiful country. The people are great and will treat you great.
Like in America, if you spend time with a stripper in Korea you are apt to get taken advantage of and possibly a good case of an STD.
I remember getting off the beaten track and coming across an old man who hadn’t seen an American since the Korean war. He just wanted his picture taken with me. Very nice and really liked Americans.
