Well, HC said the other day that he’d basically endorse the first candidate that embraced “999”.

Sounds a little self-serving to me, and I’m being kind.

Of course he lost me a long time ago, because I just don’t think he has the knowledge to be President.

You make a clever point.

I have a few crazy theories, but I think they’re true. The person who usually wins the presidency is the person with the best smile...I know that’s pretty superficial, but it’s true. I think Palin would win, just on her smile.

Obama vs Newt? I think it’s pretty even so, we then look at the personality, and if you package Newt as The Bambino, a kind of Babe Ruth type of guy, he’s pretty likeable.

But do you recall when Reagan was running vs Carter? He was given an awful persona by the left. Two weeks before the elections he was losing. Then came the Cleveland debate and people could see that Reagan wasn’t a cowboy and crazy.

I think the debates are showing that Newt is restrained and careful. I think he’ll be good vs Obama and not get flusterred.

I think Newt is giving the MSM plenty to work with recently. I know a political contest is a rough thing and Mitt has certainly used his minions (mittions) to go after Newt. Just saying, it's getting to him. What I don't get is Mitt has all these poll numbers but I can't remember hearing anyone who supports him give any reason except this electability thing. I know I'm going to vote for the GOP guy, RINO or not, and by the time I get to vote in a primary in March it might not make any difference.

Paul is my Congressman, I got gerrymandered into his district a few elections cycles ago. And there really isn't a dang thing I can do about it. I just hope whoever takes a run at his seat isn't his anointed apprentice. And yeah, Newt is starting to sound like him.

I like his books, and his speeches in general but he’s starting to remind me of Doc Brown in Back to the Future

Hey, I like Doc Brown. One of my all-time favorite movie characters. It's not easy being the smartest guy in the room.

You have to keep in mind that there are basically Two Battles that need to be won. The first battle is to defeat Mitt Romney. Which candidate is better prepared to beat Romney? Newt is clearly the correct answer. All you fairy tale conservatives better wake up. Time is a wastin’!

Just saying, it's getting to him

If it didn't get to him - he'd be of the same caliber as mitt - a lying snake in the grass. Ever think Newt knows more about mitt than many do and he cares about American. You don't burn the midnight oil reading and educating yourself on something you don't cherish. Mitt knows nothing about America - he doesn't have a drop of patriotism in him and his life proves it. He's void of anything patriotic and full of himself. I can imagine him meeting foreign leaders - nothing intelligent has come out of that mouth, yet. 'We need jobs and I'm the man to do it' is the best he can do. Mitt sounds like a 1st grader next to Newt. And Newt sounds like a genius next to mitt.

Mitt has plenty to keep everyone busy except they only focus on who they don't want. Mitt should be at 2% and if on the 'rat ballot he would be at 25-30%. He's a conman and it's not hidden - he wears LIAR on his forehead - and a s*!t eating grin on his face that says 'I just bought this election. Backstabbing is the way to go.'

It's the same old crap and idiots are falling for it. They say they don't listen to the media and indeed they do - they don't even realize the effect the media has on them. Nothing changes so nothing will change. No one wants obamacare but they vote for the same da*n mindset!! What's wrong w/these people? And Kerry was considered a flip flipper?

Yet Newt has a choice in how he responds. While angry may sell with his base, it may not be a good long term strategy with moderates who like it or not will swing the election and probably the primaries as usual. I think South Carolina is going to be a game changer especially if Mitt comes in behind Newt and Santorum. BTW 'We need jobs and I'm the man to do itis pretty much Perry's campaign theme. I'd much rather have dinner with Newt or Perry than Mitt but that's just personal opinion. Of course that's what Freerepublic is for.
