Iran sentences American man to death in CIA case
Associated Press ^ | Jan 9, 2012, 10:18 AM EST | NASSER KARIMI

An Iranian court has convicted an American man of working for the CIA and sentenced him to death, state radio reported Monday, in a case adding to the accelerating tension between the United States and Iran.

Iran charges that as a former U.S. Marine, Amir Mirzaei Hekmati, received special training and served at U.S. military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan before heading to Iran for his alleged intelligence mission. The radio report did not say when the verdict was issued.

The 28-year-old former military translator was born in Arizona and graduated from high school in Michigan. His family is of Iranian origin. His father, a professor at a community college in Flint, Michigan, has said his son is not a CIA spy and was visiting his grandmothers in Iran when he was arrested.

Behnaz Hekmati, his mother, said in an email to The Associated Press that she and her husband, Ali, are "shocked and terrified" that their son has been sentenced to death. She said the verdict is "the result of a process that was neither transparent nor fair."

Under Iranian law, he has 20 days to appeal. Hekmati has a court-appointed lawyer who was identified only by his surname, Samadi, and there was no word about an appeal.

Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehei, spokesman for Iran's judiciary said if the verdict is appealed, it would go to Iran's Supreme Court, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Hekmati's trial took place as the U.S. announced new, tougher sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, which Washington believes Tehran is using to develop a possible atomic weapons capability.

Iran, which says it only seeks nuclear reactors for energy and research, has sharply increased its threats and military posturing against stronger pressures, including the U.S. sanctions targeting Iran's Central Bank in attempts to...

He was in Iran to visit his grandmothers.

That sounds plausible.

Has Barry made a phone call to the animals stating that if they do assasinate this Marine that it will be considered an act of war?

Killing a Marine would be a very, very stupid thing for the Iranians to do.

On Iran getting a nuke, it’s a non-issue, it’s too late, the Taliban already have nukes via their puppet government in Pakistan, not sure how Iran getting their own is going to make that situation any worse.

All of this saber rattling about Iran’s nuke is just the military industrial complexes way off staving off big cuts to the defense budget.

Pakistan is a nuclear power and Taliban insurgents were within 60 miles of the capital and seizing control in 2009.

They had to back off because we were still a heavy presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and sent that degenerate Hillary Clinton over to tell the government to make pretend they were fighting back.

OBL was living in the Pakistani equivalent of West Point.

Pretty soon the charade will be over, and AlQueda will take direct control of all of the Pakistani nukes.

Iran is not going to do anything to challenge the US navy, its all propaganda

As far as the spy, Iran will execute him sure as shooting, and that muslim son of a whore in the WH won’t do a thing about it.

Did you hear the debate Sunday morning? Rep. Paul said we should do what we did with the pirates in rescuing the Iranians so as to make friends with Iran.

Well, we saw what are friendship and heroism cost us with an American in Iran being sentenced to death practically the next day.

When the Messiah and the candidate of Stormfront try to appease Iran, they will continue to get slapped in the face as was done with that death penalty!

These days, the Iranian’s are having an “accidental explosion” or “accidental refinery fire” about every 11 to 15 days and those are just the ones we hear of.

As the leader of a police state how do you galvanize what little support fanatical support you do have? Certainly, not by blaming the 60-70% of the citizens that don’t support you. First rule of running a police state is don’t acknowledge lack of support. Running a police state isn’t rocket science.

The former U.S. Marine with dual citizenship was the best possible target for them from an internal propaganda standpoint.

The have a Christian and Jewish minority, if need be they’ll target them next as saboteurs just for the propaganda value.

This is interesting... A poster on the Ulsterman Report, Richard B. Dawkins, says:

URGENT! This incident about the Marine in Iran is a FALSE FLAG.

The actor playing the “spy” is actual Mark Ballas. He is a dancer and entertainer who danced with Bristol Palin for “Dancing With the Stars.” Sounds crazy but someone is trying to start a war. Here is the link so you see for yourself. Ballas was one of the “demonstrators” with the dancers at the Jefferson Memorial along with Code Pink. You know, the ones who were supposedly arrested for dancing. That was all staged also. Surely the government knew immediately that there was no Marine by the name of Amir-Mirzaei Hekmati. They have to be in on this. No Marine is ever called an ex-Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Go see for yourself. It is a jaw dropper. Ed Chiarini DallasGoldBug was the investigator and compared the biometrics for identification on this. Original source:
