This is the guy republicans were touting for president a few months ago. He also served as RNC chair.

The pardoned inmates included David Glenn Gatlin, who was denied parole in December on his conviction for shooting dead his estranged wife while she cradled their baby in 1993.

"He shot her in the head while she was holding a baby. He's a cold-blooded murderer," said Tiffany Ellis Brewer, the victim's sister.

...another convicted murderer who was pardoned by Governor Haley Barbour has barely been in prison. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2001 for the murder of his wife Jennifer Bonds McCray. They had argued at a local cafe, he left, then came back and shot her in the back. She was the mother of two young children.

It’s the lead story on the local news right now.

More pardons due before Noon tomorrow.

People are maaad about Haley Barbour’s pardon of this David Glenn Gatlin. Apparently, he did not have all the facts and if he did, he snubbed his nose at the victim’s family.

Shameful.

“Barbour is due to leave office on Thursday.”

I guess I do not know but why is he leaving on Thursday?

Very sad...I always thought highly of Gov. Barbour but it seems he has a softspot for murderers.

Hang on. Mississippi has some of the worst and most corrupt prosecutors in the nation. There have been quite a few bogus murder convictions. Hopefully, that’s what’s going on here.

Thank goodness he isn’t one of our Presidential candidates. What the heck is wrong with him? I thought he was a pretty good conservative Gov . . . guess I was WRONG.

HANG ON?

Wow, the jawdropping stupidity around here never ceases to amaze.

“David Glenn Gatlin, a trustee inmate has been working at the governor’s mansion..”

David Glenn Gatlin blew his wife’s brains out point blank while she was holding a baby, and turned himself in and admitted his guilt.

This looks really bad on the face of it, and it seems like a particularly nasty coincidence (if it is just a coincidence) that two of the four are convicted wife-killers. Barbour has much to answer for.
