With Romney “fire people” gaffe plus undecideds, Newt could pull this out.

Yes he could...but once he starts to rise again they'll be after him again. I think that's part of the reason he sometimes lays low or doesn't just bash Romney at this juncture...but you can bet it's coming...all in Newt time.

Newt didn’t “wilt”...don’t underestimate the man. Remember he rose mightily before..and that with little staff and money when everyone said he was out. Newt now plays his hand as he chooses and equally as much not to reveal it too early as well. When Santorum said “Game On” everyone knows just what that was about....and it is a game of strategy. Newt’s proved he’s well adapted to play in this ball park...but he simply isn’t going to let it all out in one inning.

Go Newt! GO!!!!!!!

Not impressed right now.

He’s gone from winning states that should have been his a long time ago to no longer being competitive against Romney.

This is Florida! We need someone who can win and that isn’t Newt.

Well, the propaganda I’ve been getting about Newt is that he’s supposed to be strong here.

This poll is a disaster for him. I can’t see after a 4th place finish in Iowa, 5th in New Hampshire, and what is looking to be 3rd in South Carolina, how his campaign can continue.

If I’m gonna vote for a loser, I might as well vote for a loser who believes in the same things I do.

They literally just started finally examining Romney’s record 2 days ago. This thing could still turn around. Krauthammer all of a sudden looked very worried on O’Reilly when talking about the fact that Bain Capital was about to be brought up.

In my opinion, the negatives on Romney are far more substantive and far more relevant to whether he’s qualified for president than the negatives on Newt. This guy is running on being a job creator and Kennedy already proved in 1994 that there’s no there there.

Romney’s problems also seem far more likely to be referenced in the general election than Newt’s “baggage” (Sitting with Pelosi? Who really cares?). The public had no idea that Romney had baggage before, but they may be finding out real soon.

There is a chance Newt could claw his way back up to the top based on strong debate performances at the same time that the new negative ads bring Mitt down. What would really help Newt is if he could let the SuperPAC play bad cop and let himself go back to being nice Uncle Newtie in the debates, which is sort of the rhythm Mitt has had going for a while.

Or Newt needs to pull out and concede that he can’t win anywhere.

Thanks Newt for helping re-elect Obama. You done good.

“They literally just started finally examining Romney’s record 2 days ago.”

TFB. Newt should have been doing this from day one.

“This thing could still turn around.”

No, this thing isn’t gonna turn around. Newt’s been in freefall for a month. His argument after quitting in Iowa and finishing fourth - Wait ‘till South Carolina.

Now all the Newt supporters are saying, ‘wait till Super Tuesday’. This poll is a disaster and Newt supporters need to wake up to the fact that Romney is leading Newt everywhere in America.

“Krauthammer all of a sudden looked very worried on O’Reilly when talking about the fact that Bain Capital was about to be brought up.”

Yeah, I’m sure. We’ve got what, a couple weeks to finally get behind a winner, and the argument keeps coming up that we need to back Newt who’s been in freefall.

Nope. If Newt can’t win in FL and SC, we need to bail on him hard now. At least while we still can.

“In my opinion, the negatives on Romney are far more substantive and far more relevant to whether he’s qualified for president than the negatives on Newt.”

Your opinion is wrong. The negatives on Newt have dropped him down 10 percent, while Romney hasn’t actually been hurt anywhere from his negatives.

If the campaign were hurting Romney, shouldn’t we be seeing some evidence of it? I’m not seeing anything at all, besides the fact that Newt is freefalling and nobody seems to be willing to report that the emperor has no clothes.

And I’m sick of it.

If Newt is losing in SC to Romney and in FL to Romney, then Newt is losing everywhere in America to Romney.

“This guy is running on being a job creator and Kennedy already proved in 1994 that there’s no there there.”

Who cheated on 2 wives and is a loser candidate. We got a winner, now we just need conservatives to wake up and drop Newt like a bad habit. Socons aren’t gonna back Newt because of his negatives and they certainly aren’t gonna back Newt after Santorum’s showing in Iowa. Why bother?

“Romney’s problems also seem far more likely to be referenced in the general election than Newt’s “baggage” “

Total denial. Total and complete denial.

Romney is gonna cruise to the general. Don’t you see this?

“There is a chance Newt could claw his way back up to the top based on strong debate performances”

Yadda yadda yadda. Didn’t happen in Iowa, didn’t happen in NH, isn’t gonna happen in SC and isn’t gonna happen in FL.

“which is sort of the rhythm Mitt has had going for a while.”

Yeah, freefalling in the states where he was once leading. He’s done. His supporters just don’t see it yet. Pity.

Well you didn't look at Romney's numbers in NH I guess. He free-falled about 10 points in the polls over the last week. The negatives are having an impact. Looks like even if nothing changes, Newt is going to be 4th in NH after 4th in IA, then 3rd in SC and 2nd in FL. Doesn't look like a free fall to me, that looks like moving up. Newt looks well-positioned to be the comeback kid as the negative ads wither Romney's support, the $5 million Las Vegas money comes in, and with 4 more debates before FL for Newt to remake his case. There's also a chance Sarah Palin and Tea Party groups could follow Todd Palin's lead and endorse Newt. That will probably knock Santorum out of the running and get us our 2-man race + Paul. Paul is already saying he's only focusing on certain states like caucus states and won't be campaigning heavily in states like FL.

“Well you didn’t look at Romney’s numbers in NH I guess.”

Yeah, the only beneficiary seems to be Paul and Huntsmen, with Newt in 5th.

“The negatives are having an impact.”

Not in a way that benefits Newt.

“Newt is going to be 4th in NH after 4th in IA”

5th in NH. Ahead of Perry.

“Doesn’t look like a free fall to me”

Newt was in 1st a month ago and had 36 percent nationwide.

“Newt looks well-positioned to be the comeback kid”

If he doesn’t win any of the first four states, this nominations going to be wrapped up really quickly.

“There’s also a chance Sarah Palin and Tea Party groups could follow Todd Palin’s lead and endorse Newt.”

What if they endorse Santorum? What then?

“That will probably knock Santorum out of the running and get us our 2-man race + Paul.”

Well, if Santorum beats out Newt in NH, and gets the tea party endorsement, what then?

Are you going to still back Newt into oblivion? Look, Newt’s got to have South Carolina. There’s just no way he can hope to take the nomination if he loses there.

Santorum already won Iowa. A win in Iowa, win in SC and win in FL will make it a battle. See, Santorum isn’t going to drop out before Newt drops out. Newt hoping that Santorum drops out for him to win isn’t going to happen.

This is what the Newt folks don’t get. Santorum winning Iowa gives him a ticket all the way to Florida. Newt has to win SC in order to have an argument that he can continue on to Florida.

If he loses in SC, look for him to drop out then.

Wrong. Romney has fallen 10 points in the last 6 days in NH. When he polls at under 30% today, the story will be how Romney is fading. Newt is a damn sight better than any other candidate to take on Romney. Santorum? No fire in his belly.

Poll not even close, when a poll is that much off from national polls of the big polling firms you are peeing in the weeds.

“Newt is a damn sight better than any other candidate to take on Romney. Santorum? No fire in his belly.”

Unfortunately, Newt is a disgusting pervert. His chance of getting the social conservative/family vote is exactly zero. Even with him signing that ridiculous “I promise not to cheat anymore” pledge. A GOP candidate can’t win a general election if Christian conservatives won’t show up to vote for him.

In yesterday's mail here in Florida, I received 3 fliers from Romney's PAC bashing Newt. Romney knows who he is up against. Newt and Newt only.
