Gov. Haley Received $36,000 Campaign Donation from Romney PAC before Endorsement
Posner Politics ^ | January 9, 2012 | Rob Groce

Gov. Nikki Haley announced her endorsement of Mitt Romney in mid-December.

The Republican presidential candidate, regarded to be somewhat moderate, earned her Tea Party support because “he knows how the private economy works, how to fix it, and most importantly how to solve problems,” Haley said in her announcement.

The fact that Romney knows how to donate to campaigns might have more to do with it, though.

His “Free and Strong America” political action committee donated $36,000 to Haley’s campaign in 2010.

And she’s not alone, either. Romney has, to date, received 35 endorsements from politicians his PAC donated to first, implying those open supporters may just be returning a favor, or were even paid for that favor early on.

I was disappointed by Haley’s endorsement, but this might be a bit of a stretch. The headline makes it sound like he just wrote her a check and Presto! her mind was made up. The reality is that the check was written in 2010; he didn’t buy the support of an office-holder, he helped get someone into office.

Romney’s money, and the money of his very wealthy close allies, has permeated the Republican Party and its satellite “conservative” organizations.

And it constantly amazes me how little they are willing to sell their souls to him for.

Governors go for 36K, while voters go for a few bucks in their SS payment.

Pray for America

I was just about to write this, and saw that you already had done so.

The headline is misleading becasue it makes it sound like the check was in the mail at the time Haley made her endorsement a few weeks ago. The contribution was over a year earlier. It was NOT a quid pro quo. Just politics as usual, like when Palin campaigned for McStain last year.

RINO Romney has bought, and paid for the GOP nomination

To quote Judge Judy: "Follow the money."

Follow it from most of the major campaigns, and you would probably be shocked and surprised to see how many pay-offs are made. Of course, they have various other names for it.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the RINO Romney campaign isn't the only one doing this. Why else do you think this coming election is going to cost/generate around $1Billion [with a B] price tag?

Well I guess that explains things nicely does it not? I’m wondering if it’s the same for Christie and others? Did Romney buy a thousand of Ann Coulter’s books too?

She kissed the Tea Party on the cheek right after she collected a bag of silver.

She kissed the Tea Party on the cheek right after she collected a bag of silver.

Many of them only snuggle up to the Tea Party or conservatives when they think they need the Tea Party or conservatives. As soon as they feel they no longer need the Tea Party or conservatives, they kick them to the curb.

Look how many who were running tight reelection campaigns claimed to be 'original' Tea Party supporters.

I thought everyone knew Romney donated and supported Haley's campaign in 2010?

Is this breaking news 2 years later?

You haven’t burst any bubble here TomGuy. It’s a matter of how the inluence is peddled, and why, NOT that it was. We have more than a two dimensional going here.

Look not only forward, and backward, but to both sides as well up, and down, or you won’t see what’s really happening.

What kind of laws and rules are in America now? In a different era that’d be called bribery and she’d be hailed out of the governor’s mansion in shackles and jailed.
