At a campaign event this evening at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., President Obama indicated that he had successfully brought about "change"--an ambiguous 2008 campaign promise--by killing terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden. From the official White House transcript:
And change is keeping one of the first promises I made in 2008 -- ending the war in Iraq and bringing our troops home. (Applause.) The war is over and our troops are home. And instead, we refocused our efforts on the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11. And thanks to our brave men and women in uniform, al Qaeda is weaker than it’s ever been, and Osama bin Laden will never again walk the face of this Earth. That’s what change is. (Applause.)
The president also listed Obamacare as a change he was responsible for, though he failed to mention the unpopularity of his signature legislation.
And the president warned that Republicans threaten the "very core of what this country stands for."
The very core of what this country stands for is on the line -- the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try. The notion that we're all in this together, that we look out for one another -- that's at stake in this election. Don't take my word for it. Watch some of these debates that have been going on up in New Hampshire.
Supporters of President Obama's reelection effort paid at least $100 for tickets to attend tonight's event. A reported 700 folks were in attendance.
What a dork. He wasn’t elected just to go and get Bin Laden. But that’s all he’s got and he’s gonna milk it for all it’s worth this year. And when he’s being evicted from the White House, he’ll still be mumbling, “But ... I got Bin Laden ....”

I would not call him done then. Not just yet, anyway.
Obama can say these types of things because some ELSE wrote it and he is merely reading the TelePromter. Obama has no earthly idea what this country stands for. And the iron-clad proof of this is in his ACTIONS. If Obama had any idea whatsoever about what America stands for he would not have traveled the world bowing to foreign leaders and apologizing to them for America.
That is proof that Obama has no idea what America stands for and just reads the words of others on the teleprompter.
He forgot to mention the record number of people living in poverty and surviving on food stamps. That’s change we can believe in. If we give him four more years he will impoverish millions more Americans.
As long as the Republican party does not put up a lightningrod, or an incompetent, Obama stands ZERO chance.
Now democrats want romney because they think it will blunt the single biggest thing that is going to motivate voters, that being Obamacare, since Romney did nearly the same thing in Mass.
However, Obama’s tenure has been a disaster on every measureable level, and he cannot win re-election without the republicans handing it to him. Unlike 08 where he could talk meaningless jibber jabber (or better, read meaningless jibber jabber from teleprompter screens) he now must live by his record.. and his record is one of absolute failure.
Gas prices are twice as high as they were when he took office.
Real Unemployment is still at about 15-17% with no signs of changing.
Iraq is heading into the dumper due to his ineptitude. (though this will not be a motivating factor for many who would have considered voting for him in the first place.. don’t underestimate the person who’s family members or friends died there, now watching it being allowed to unravel.) They will be motivated beyond comprehension to make sure this guy doesn’t go back to 1600 PA Ave... and while they may never have voted for him anyway, they will influence others who may have in ways that will be unforseen.
Occupy nonsense... the blowback from that nonsense is going to hamper the Dem’s big time in the polls.
etc. etc. etc...
I am not say take the campaign lightly, but I am saying his only chance at a second term is for the republican primary voters to be complicite and put forth a bad candidate.
Provided they don’t do that, Obama will be lucky if he gets anywhere over 42% of the vote, at best. If the economy stays in the tanker and he keeps popping off how he’s one of the greatest presidents of all time... he’ll be lucky to hit 40.
Americans always look out for one another. What's at stake is whether the government decides who gets taken care of, who doesn't, and who is forced to pay for others and who isn't.
The hubris of this guy is mind-boggling. The most dangerous thing he’d ever done was creep through some Cook County graveyard at night, registering new demonrats. How DARE he associate himself with those fearless warriors?
A former Pakistani Prime Minister or President has said the same before assasinated!!!
Then telling us they trew the body in the ocean, come on, and then killing our Navy Seals, hmmmm???
