Go Rick P and Newt!
This is truly pathetic. Awful. Outrageous.
He should stop this crap.
“Perry started slashing away at Romneys record as chief executive at Bain Capital on Monday, but was more caustic Tuesday in condemning the firms practice of making money in corporate takeover deals that sometimes triggered job losses.”
There are, in fact, some VERY unscrupulous characters out there in the VC world and I’m not saying Bain was one of them, but defending them is not defending capitalism as some here believe. There have been many raiders and hostile buyouts that have wiped out otherwise good, decent companies and put people out of work for absolutely no reason other than turning a quick buck by destroying them.
I find that kind of “capitalism” as antithetical to a healthy economy as a result of a solid work ethic. I don’t know how defenders of this kind of raiding square the two concepts.
So....capitalism is bad. Got it Rick, thanks.
Romney’s company took over stuggling businesses and made them profitable again. How many jobs would have been lost without their intervention? Al of them?
If a company doesn’t make a profit, it eventually goes out of business (unless it has friends in Washington who will give it some taxpayer money.)
Romney should turn the tables and talk about jobs saved. I’m still in the anti-Romney wing of the party, but this rhetoric belongs with the left, not us.
OK...
How many people on FR know that vultures feed on the DEAD and already dying???
There are corrupt, dishonest people to be sure. But it's exceedingly rare to make money by intentionally destroying profitable companies. What would be the point?
People and the press question and criticize business practices everyday. Only when Romney is questioned does that become an issue.
Oh, and yes, in any context you want to put it, he did say he like firing people. Maybe you want him as your nominee, but I don't.
I am no Romney supporter, but he is not a vulture or unethical.
You have a much better record, better positions than Romney. Get out of the gutter and speak to your strengths and Obama’s negatives. Please!!!
Let’s find out how many “pension funds” were raided by Bain Capitol before forming ignorant opinions. It’s one thing to buy a company, sell its’ assets, and move on. It’s another to raid pension funds that people spent years saving, and leave them unemployed with no retirement funds.
“There have been many raiders and hostile buyouts that have wiped out otherwise good, decent companies”
Examples, Please...
“Oh, and yes, in any context you want to put it, he did say he like firing people. Maybe you want him as your nominee, but I don’t.”
My posting history and my tagline should tell you that I will not ever vote for Mitt Romney.
“Oh, and yes, in any context you want to put it, he did say he like firing people.”
Yes, in the interest of HONESTY however, one should post or listen to the whole statement.
“...he did say he like firing people...
I would like to fire all these government types Obama has been flooding the federal payroll with.

No. you are mistaken.
The Gov. is CORRECT. Good for him.
Shame on Romney’s VULTURE CAPITALISM.
Gingrich and Perry have become so dishonest now...incredible.
They only thing they are missing from their campaigns is:
We are the 99%!!!
Look, I've changed service providers, but that does not make me happy to fire people.
Really...really...did you join the occupy movement?
