A New York City school employee has lost her job over accusations she faked her daughter's death so she could take a vacation to Costa Rica.
The Daily News says a school official became suspicious of the forged death certificate. A special investigator's report says it had different fonts that were misaligned.

But obviously 8 weeks off is not enough time for some people.
not to worry. they will put him in the rubber room with all the no longer teaching teachers until he retires and then pay his pension. well tax payers will pay.
I cannot even imagine what type of person would “fake” the death of their own child?! Words fail....
I heard about that place. It’s a great gig for teachers.
I’ve heard teachers getting Master’s and Doctorate’s while waiting in the rubber room.
One person I read about actually had a job on the side selling real estate.
Actually, the woman who sold us our house did something like that. He family was very prominent in this area and she told everyone who would listen that one of her sons who was "away at school in California" was deathly ill with cancer. I don't know if she carried it as far as having him die, but everyone in the neighborhood thought he was a goner. Actually, he was ducking a possiblle arrest for hit and run and she just disappeared him. Poof! He was gone.
The mother and the father have both since died, but the son is alive and well and living in the area 25 years after.
Summer is not the best time to visit Costa Rica.
Aside from that, this seems like a dodge a person could use only once!
It just seems way over the top for me. Most parents fear the death of their child over most other things. To even say the words out loud? To forge your child’s name on a death certificate? I guess there are all sorts of people in this world... many of whom I will never understand.
So just forging a death certificate is nowhere near as bad as offing the kid, therefore she should get her job back.
How can a major lie like that be covered up ? Kind of like a different person faking their mother’s death to get a few days off !
Let me guess -- it's a $100k no-show job? I can't imagine what a "parent coordinator at the Manhattan High School of Hospitality Management" could do that could be quantitatively measured. Why did she need an excuse not to show?

Maybe we could get these experts to analyze Obozo’s birth certificate?
“parent coordinator”. Was she coordinating parents? Was she a parent?
Whenever we hire a contractor, we inquire as to his mother’s health then warn him that we are sorry but we expect that his mother will die sometime during the project. Its just happend too many times before.
Every profession has its rotten apples, but lately, public schools seem to have more than their fair share.
