Complete title: Obama: EPA Regulations Create Jobs; 'EPA Touches on the Lives of Every Single American Every Single Day'
(CNSNews.com) - In a speech to employees of the Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday, President Barack Obama said that EPA regulations are good for the economy and create jobs and that the agency "touches" the lives of every American every day.
We can make sure that we are doing right by our environment and, in fact, putting people back to work all across America, Obama told the federal workers.
When we put in place new common-sense rules to reduce air pollution, we create new jobs building and installing all sorts of pollution-control technology, Obama said.
When we put in place new emissions standards for our vehicles, we make sure that the cars of tomorrow are going to be built right here in the United States of America, that were going to win that race, the president continued.
When we clean up our nations waterways, we generate more tourists for our local communities. So whats good for the environment can also be good for our economy, Obama said.
The president spoke to the EPA employees at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorim in Washington, D.C., to thank them for their workwhich he said touches the lives of all Americans every day.
The main reason Im here is simple: I just want to say thank you, Obama said. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you, because the EPA touches on the lives of every single American every single day.
What a crock! They touch some people like the couple in Idaho.
They need to start “touching” the lives of Americans, and drawing back a bloody stump.
We fixed those problems. We're done with the EPA. Thanks, now move on, EPA.
Well said...The EPA has now gone to the ridiculous extremes of regulation by the government, they need to be done away with.
He’s a Keynesian, or Kenyanesian...
Keynesian economics, or the “broken windows fallacy writ large”, is the gospel of economics for these guys.
He genuinely believes this is true.
Obama is crazier than an outhouse rat! The EPA has given us expensive, dangerous light bulbs; toilets that need to be flushed 3 or 4 times; appliances that don’t work worth a darn and are more expensive and less reliable than older models; detergents that don’t clean; asthma inhalers that cost more and don’t work; and regulations that cost jobs and close businesses.
The EPA touches me all right, it touches my butt when it steals money out of the wallet in my back pocket.
Lying is a way of life for Jug Ears

Here we see Obama’s campaign stragegy - make crap up and lie. About everything. Every day.
The Obozo is SO FULL OF IT the odor wreaks to every corner of this nation
Once had the MiDEQ tell me that, “Technology has advanced to where science can now accurately detect contaminatants in the ppb range. We are moving forward with regulations that will impose new limits in that range.”
Guess he’s never heard of diminishing returns.
“touches” the lives = “hold them down”
Government Parasite Jobs are not REAL jobs.
BS! The EPA steals private property rights and destroys capital needed for economic development.
‘EPA Touches on the Lives of Every Single American Every Single Day’
Kinda like the TSA does....
I want to say thank you to each and every one of you, because the EPA torches
touches on the lives of MANY every single Americans every single day.
That isn't a good thing.
BIG Gubamint is like a rash that won’t go away.
Amen to that, Norm.
“Obama said that EPA regulations are good for the economy and create jobs”
How many PRODUCTIVE JOBS does this monster create? Of the jobs “created” how many are created outside of the DC metro?
When you have the answer to those two questions, President Jugears, let me know so I can ask a few more that are pertainent. Of course since I am not a member of the spoon fed MSM, I don’t expect an answer in this eon.
its true ...EPA regs create Federal jobs at the expense of jobs in Flyover Country...
Well CO2 is not pollution. It is vital to life. And Obama shows what this is really all about. It is about choosing winners and losers. Rewarding cronies. And not giving a darn about the poor who cannot afford the inefficient green technologies.
Amen my brother!
And both created under “republican” presidencies under the auspices of “protecting” us.
Obozo knows better. He’s just busy selling his propaganda to those willing to swallow the next warm bowl of $hit.
Of course, EPA regulation destroy vastly more jobs than they ever could create, but Obama chooses to ignore that intended effect whenever not mentioning it would be politic (which is almost always). Remember, Obama aims to “create or save” 4 million jobs. Bush, by contrast, quietly “created or saved” 134 million jobs throughout his entire presidency. The locution “create or save” indicates that Obama takes credit for every job which he deigns not to destroy.
You spend tons and tons of money on cleaning ups some old dump, and at the end of the day you still just have a dump. No new car, no new appliance, book, road, - nothing!
We were only fixing problems. Granted, fixing problems needs to be done - but I realized that some day, spending a bunch of money to fix old problems was going to stop, or bankrupt the company. And figured it would end someday. Instead, they are now bankrupting the COUNTRY. And now it isn't to fix old problems, but to fix imaginary problems like global warming.
Thankfully the environmental uses of my services are on the wane (pain in the butt with all of the regulations), but the engineering aspects are growing. And often are used to PREVENT problems from arising - which IS a productive thing.
I'll never forget when the EPA (or some such - it may have been OSHA, NIOSH, Etc.) came up with some limit on some chemical (say 1 part per billion), and even the lab instruments at the time could only read to something like 10 parts/billion!
